Keebler 3 Posted June 19, 2025 Posted June 19, 2025 this has been going on for a while, and it is really getting annoying... is there a sleep setting or something that would cause this? i am running this in windows and i have checked that ALL sleep and hibernating settings have been turned off in windows, including all hard drive settings have been disallowed to sleep or turn off. that leaves Emby. is there a setting that I have missed somewhere?
darkassassin07 652 Posted June 19, 2025 Posted June 19, 2025 The server app closes after inactivity, or the whole server machine shuts down/hibernates?
Keebler 3 Posted June 19, 2025 Author Posted June 19, 2025 (edited) yes it sure acts like a sleep setting somewhere Edited June 19, 2025 by Keebler
darkassassin07 652 Posted June 19, 2025 Posted June 19, 2025 ....? That wasn't a yes or no question... Is just the Emby server application closing OR Is the whole machine shutting down ??
Keebler 3 Posted June 19, 2025 Author Posted June 19, 2025 i found it thank you - you pointed me in the correct direction. the whole machine had to be rebooted HERE is what I found there is a setting in the BIOS that wants to clear the RAM cache, i disabled it (after searching all over windows and then the only thing left was the BIOS).. and in THIS pc. there is a setting in the CHIPSET that is designed to increase RAM functionality, by clearing the RAM every so often when the PC is not being used... apparently this low level clearing stuns the PC. there is none of the freezing or stalls when clearing the cache in windows, only when the BIOS did it. disabling the feature in the BIOS seemed to solve the issue it has been running just fine for over an hr. when previously it quit after a few minutes of non use. 1
