liamlows 0 Posted June 12, 2025 Posted June 12, 2025 (edited) Hello, So I recently set up M3U streaming via Threadfin (which filters and maps channels from my IPTV provider) and when I finished setting it all up and started a stream, it would play for a little bit completely fine but eventually error with "No compatible streams are currently available. Please try again later or contact your system administrator for details". I tried to understand what was causing this issue to occur and looked at logs but didn't see anything explicitly explaining the error other than some "resource not found" errors. I then bumped into this thread and saw something about subtitles potentially causing an issue with streaming (looking back I don't know why I thought this but its irrelevant). I noticed my user settings had subtitle mode set to "Default" and they would always be on when opening a Live TV stream so I instead set it to "No subtitles" and tried accessing one of the streams I had issues with again. Sure enough, after this change the subtitles never loaded and I successfully ran the stream for about 2 hours with no issues at all (previously the compatible streams error would pop up after about 2-5 minutes). Thus, I have a feeling that somewhere between my IPTV provider -> threadfin -> emby the subtitles sent with the M3U are getting messed up and causing the whole playback to fail. I'd like to fix it properly, but I'm worried it may be a provider issue and not something I can control. Is there a way to disable subtitles globally for all live tv streams to prevent this from happening or by default set the mode to "No Subtitles" for all my users? The subtitles provided are barely correct or are super behind so I dont see any reason to need them anyway. Additionally, my family isn't the best with tech so asking them to change that profile setting on their own may be difficult to do. Thanks in advance for any help or insight! EDIT: One of the log errors found, unsure if related. I can post the full embyserver.txt if needed. 2025-06-12 21:51:18.146 Error Server: Error processing request *** Error Report *** Version: 4.8.11.0 Command line: /opt/emby-server/system/EmbyServer.dll -programdata /var/lib/emby -ffdetect /opt/emby-server/bin/ffdetect -ffmpeg /opt/emby-server/bin/ffmpeg -ffprobe /opt/emby-server/bin/ffprobe -restartexitcode 3 -updatepackage emby-server-deb_{version}_amd64.deb Operating system: Linux version 5.15.0-141-generic (buildd@lcy02-amd64-027) (gcc (Ubuntu 11.4.0-1ubuntu1~22.04) 11.4.0, GNU ld (GNU Binutils for Ubuntu) 2.38) #151-Ubun Framework: .NET 6.0.36 OS/Process: x64/x64 Runtime: opt/emby-server/system/System.Private.CoreLib.dll Processor count: 12 Data path: /var/lib/emby Application path: /opt/emby-server/system MediaBrowser.Common.Extensions.ResourceNotFoundException: MediaBrowser.Common.Extensions.ResourceNotFoundException: Resource not found. Hi, the closest you can do is go into each user in user management, and then click the link to edit their profile preferences. From there you can set the subtitle mode to no subtitles. you'll have to do this for each user.

Thanks for that, it's good to know that this is a possibility for others where i can manually change that setting for them. However, unfortunately it looks like the issue still happens even with the subtitles disabled, I'm guessing when it worked fine that one time, I must have just gotten lucky. I tried it again and this time captured the full chunk of logs from the stream starting to it failing, do you see anything out of the ordinary here? Is it just the case that the IPTV provider is responding with an error and causing the stream to fail? Attached are the logs from that snippet (let me know if the full file would be better, at the time it was very very long so id try to restart and isolate usage to just the stream). embyserver.txt
