I guess this bug is related to tv-shows too, as i have seen this there also. And, dropping and re-adding some times have the same quirk...

This bug has several effects and favorites is just one of it. Happens on content updates. Most issues are not affecting the functionalities, but I can see the issues in Kodi's database.

General info:

I re-wrote the complete audio/musicvideo sync for proper playlists support. As this function is not really integrated in Kodi (m3u only with very limited metadata support), the plugin will use a complete different approach to handle it. Also I fixed several bugs in the music part of the code.

That's the reason why the next version takes a while and I hope I can release it in the next days when my internal tests are completed.

Another one i saw with E4K 12.x.x.....

Some times showing the information of a tv-show leads to movie information. This happends randomly, maybe caused by startup syncs, and i cant get it reproduced. Usualy all tv-shows affected than.  I saw this on Corelelec / Kodi 21.2 and Kodi Windows 21.2.

Only fixable by repairing the tv-show database (or drop and re-adding).

Interesting but hard to say what's going on. I know "Favorite bug" is actually a update sync issue but should not raise such issues. It's permanent when it happens? Maybe you can send me your MyVideo.db when it happens again.

It's permanent, yes. When its happend again  i send you the myvideo.db.

Hi @quickmic

Recently tried to add a few collections from my My Media/BluRay Collections folder.

Works fine when using (Dynamic Node) emby_dynamic_movies_Blu-Ray_collections/Folder_folder.xlm
The new items are showing up fine, and work when selected.

But not when using (Sync Node) Blu-ray_collections/sets.xlm
The existing folders/collections show up and work fine, but the new and changed
movies do not. (currently 39 items in sync mode, and 41 in dynamic mode).

I have tried Manage Libraries/Refresh Boxsets, Update libraries, and Repair libraries.
No Change.

My main issue is that for some reason, Kodi/Aeon Nox Silvo will not allow poster
view with Dynamic Mode.  It shows them as "list, "Icons" or "wall"
which for movies looks not so good.

I suspect there was a change in Emby (I'm running the latest Beta)
But I don't know exactly when the changes occurred as I have not added to that
Folder/Collection in some time.

Also, I'm not sure if it's my setup or intentional.  When I reboot
Kodi, I must go back into the add-on and Enable LiveTv again.
For some reason after rebooting, It gets reset.

My Device: NVidia Shield 2017 Android Ver: 11  Shield Ver 9.2.0
Kodi Version: 21.2 Stable
Skin: Aeon Nox Silvo
Emby for Kodi Next Gen Ver: 12.1.2

Please let me know what logs, and what if any queries you'd like me to do before
sending the logs to you.

I know you're busy, no rush.

Thanks!

I'll check that..

Kodi bug, happens on some of my devices too. I try to find a workaround.

The pvr maintainer ksooo is one of the most active kodi developers. Why not report the bug and see if it can be addressed?

Instabilities and random crashes based on timings/load and specific skin implementations, good luck reporting that. The PVR implementation is horrible in Kodi. Almost no APi's and zero plugin support via python. Finally poor performance and I'm not talking about the iptv plugin. I mean the Kodi core.

I will assume when you say there is no API's, that you meant specifically python. I know there is zero pvr plugin support for python, which is not surprising since pvr plugins and the API for them are binary, ie in kodi's case c/c++.  Sounds like  you are suggesting that there should be python pvr plugins. IIRC, there was such a proposal, might have been a PR or POC to gauge interest. There wasn't much response. Maybe you could suggest it again.

Partially, but also no proper jsonrpc API. You cannot even trigger an EPG refresh beside start/stop the pvr plugin. No timer API, no callbacks nothing, but I'm not opening that box. These are known Kodi limitations.

Confirmed, will be fix in next version. btw, not only homevideos are affected.

i tried the latest 12.1.2 plugin with server versions 4.9.1.3 and 4.9.1.22 but i'm still unable to delete (dynamic node, home video/photo) files from the context menu.  was this fixed?

Should be, but I'll check it again.

I checked on my test version, and seems to be ok. So what's exactly the issue? Did you enable delete option/is the option available? Emby admin permissions?

I can select the option to delete, and after confirming I want to delete the file, it remains there.  I'm trying with a user that has permission to delete from that folder.

I've attached a complete log in case it's helpful.  Let me know if there is anything else I can try - thank you!

But no further information is in the log. I'll add additional debug info in next version. However, did you also try a "real" Emby admin account.

Possible sync issue - I have been re-ripping some TV shows I had ripped and encoded years ago (for example, my Futurama DVD rips weren't done with the right detelecine settings originally). Workflow is:

1. Delete contents of season folder and insert new MKVs - the actual Show asset itself is not removed+re-added to Emby

2. Mass file rename and NFO generation with Sonarr

3. Trigger "Scan Library Files" for that show in Emby

4. Manually trigger (or wait for schedule) Detect Episode Intros

Following this Kodi no longer offers the intro skip prompt for those episodes, but other clients (web, Roku) do. Tried Emby: Refresh Item on the show from Kodi with no effect. Any diag info (Kodi logs/etc) that could help track this down?

edit - I saw you posted 12.2.1 while I was posting this. I have another show I'll be refreshing in the next day or two that can serve as a testbed for this, going to do an E4K upgrade and do a reset now.

The main problem with skip intro is, Emby server does not report those changes if it's the only change.

Makes sense. Sounds like I'd be better off letting emby remove and re-discover the entire show. Thanks!

In the library settings is a "Marker" option. I suggest, select "as a scheduled task and when media is added". In this case it will be detected for new media and synced to the plugin.

If it's only by "as a scheduled task", the plugin gets no info about the change and it's not synced.

I also granted the permission "allow this user to manage the server" and confirmed it has "allow media deletion from" the library I want to delete from.  On the file system itself, the file has 777 properties.  Files still don't do anything after I attempt to delete them.

I assume the most recent release did not include the additional debug info?  Please let me know when it is ready to debug again - thanks!

Yes it does, you can send me a new log.

Also enable debug log also on the server for better  review.

Thanks

I apologize for the trouble -- after reviewing the server log, I found the issue was due to the emby service user not having write access to the folder.  I fixed the permissions and the delete is working as expected.
