Which is the prefered way to access media through this? Synced nodes or Dynamic? I ask because I have a weird problem with the Playlists I made in Emby.

Setup: Kodi 21.2 on Nvidia Shield Pro, Emby Server 4.8.11 on QNAP NAS, Embuary Skin, Emby for Kodi (Next Gen) 12.1.0, Emby for Kodi Next Gen Video Helper 10.1.2

I have created all the media tabs I wanted in Embuary and linked them to Emby for Kodi using the Video Helper pointing at the Synced nodes and everything works fine, except some of my Playlists aren't showing all the media I put in them.

If the playlist contains any media that has a '/' symbol in it's metadata name (such as several SPY x FAMILY episodes I have, for example 'BOND'S STRATEGY TO STAY ALIVE / DAMIAN'S FIELD RESEARCH TRIP') is doesn't show them in the list, only episodes that don't have that symbol. But if I look at the Dynamic version of the Playlist is does contain all the episodes correctly, with or without the '/' in their metadata name.

However the Dynamic version doesn't seem to pull any of the artwork I created for the Playlists, but the Synced version does.

I can confirm this bug, will be fixed in next version.

I am trying to delete files from Dynamic Nodes defined as Home Video & Photos content, but they are not being removed.  Fwiw, I've raised this same issue with a previous version which was resolved here.  Hopefully this is the same issue - if not, I can provide an updated log file.

Confirmed, will be fix in next version. btw, not only homevideos are affected.

Kodi changed the movie database in latest alpha version -> MyVideos136.db

This change brakes some features in the plugin. I'll fix it in next version

Hello.

i am unable to enter my server's address and port in the plugin. I run my emby server on https with up to date security certificate and if I enter the full URL (https://emby.abc.com), it gets cleared as soon as I click connect. If I don't enter the https part and set the port to 443, it clears it also. No combination works. Is this a bug or am I doing something wrong?

Thanks

No, seems to be valid.

Did you try https://emby.abc.com and the port?

If this also doesn't help, please upload a kodi.log for review.

Hi @quickmic.

Yes, this is the URL I tried.

Maybe a stupid question : how do I relaunch the plugin after a failed attempt? It is not present in the add-ons menu item, and the launch button is disabled in the add-ons settings item. I can only uninstall it from there.

Edit: never mind, I went to the plugin's configure menu and I found the add server dialog. Will post the logs shortly.

Ha!

I was able to log into my server using the manual add server, and writing the whole url in the address field (http://emby.abc.com:443) and deleting the port that was in the port field.

Not what I expected, I thought the port went in the "port" field, since there is a "port" field.

Both works, I don't know why the port field fails on your setup. I use it myself and seems to be fine.

Over the last few weeks I've had a couple of warning messages pop-up from E4K 12.1.0 identifying an issue with "webhooks" failing. I did not get logs from those events unfortunately.  Rebooting the RPI4 that E4K is installed on resolved the issue. Tonight I received an error about gateway being lost while streaming media with reference to "webhooks". It was a slightly different notification that what I had seen previously, but it still referenced "webhooks". E4K continued streaming the media, so I'm not sure what the actual issue was. This time I was able to get the log from when the error occurred. I'm not sure if this is an issue with E4K 12 or an issue with Kodi. But I'd thought I'd post the Kodi.log just in case there is something in there that points towards E4K as being the culprit for the issue.

Just received the Gateway error again while streaming media. I was wrong...there is no mention of "webhook" in the notification. Sorry for miscommunicating that.

Logs from when the error occurred attached.

Nevermind...false alarm regarding the gateway error. The issue is with the weather service I've selected on my LibreElec client, not E4K.

Sorry about that.

Webhook error may still be an issue...it was definitely E4K that threw the errror on that. I'll post back if that happens again.

According to your log, the websocket is working fine (config is correct). Therefore the websocket automatically reconnects when failing. No need to reboot Kodi or the server.

Usually a lost websocket connection indicates a busy/unresponsive server but nothing to be worried about. Maybe I increase the "keepalive" ping timeouts to get less notifications like that.

You can also test the websocket connection by sending a text message to Kodi. This sort of communication uses the websocket.

Have there been any issues using this with Emby server 4.8? I saw a post last month that it was tested and seemed stable, but was wondering if there's been any changes.

It used to show in previous versions of embyforkodi 11. I'm not sure what version it broke on and I updated to 12 to see if it would fix it. If I change the source on that widget to anything else the info shows. It just doesn't show for that source specifically. I added two images. The first shows the episode in the continue last played source and the other in the season view to show that the information is available for that episode.

Thank you for looking into it!

More info shows now in the new version, but it says WEB for every show instead of HD, FHD, etc. It also does not show ratings or end/return date still. And lastly I cannot play content from continue watching it says playback failed after updating to the new version.

I've reset nodes and database.

I've reset nodes and database.

I can confirm this and specify it a little bit more. For me mixed content continue watching is working for movies like it should it only fails for tvshows/episodes.

And yeah the nodes for episodes/tvshows have missing infos and says web for all.

Thanks for the feedback, I'll check it again. The Series/Season progress might be a problem for dynamic nodes. The server doesn't report sufficient/accurate data to fully cover it. I see what I can do. HD, FHD etc should be easy to fix.

v 12.1.1

"Scan media library" is duplicated

Also, the descriptions don't match the option selected.  "Pause sync when server is busy with tasks" is the same description for about 10 options.

Confirmed, will be fixed. There are some translation issues. Leave the first 3 options enabled in this section, the "Enable sync during playback" is also wrong.

Do you test with music videos? Movies and tv shows sync fine but no music videos show up

Yes, musicvideos are fine. I need a kodi.log for review (including the musicvideo sync).

Logs sent

Thanks, log seems to be ok. You are using strm files, right? Can you please send me one strm file for review as well.

How are the metadata for the musicvideos? Do you have album and artist info assigned?

Which type of Emby library is it? Mixed or musicvideo type?

No not strm files. mkv mainly. I sent two samples one as music video and one as a sports video
