FrostByte 5392 Posted February 1 Posted February 1 There is a duplicate setting Sync, though the description is different. v12.4.10 (though it may have been there before). 1

FrostByte 5392 Posted February 1 Posted February 1 @quickmic Can you add some kind of message after successfully deleting a Backup? -- sort of like you do when creating one, so we know it actually did the something. Can be at the bottom of your tdl. 1

The 4k one is listed first in the dialog that pops up. Depends on the skin, my skin highlights the default version. Also you can see it in the Context-Infoscreen. There should be a version button, where you can adjust the settings. Also, I tested again with your instructions and still works like a charm on my setup, even in native mode. However, native mode could act differently depending how you access files. e.g. I don't use any path substitution on Emby server etc, as I mounted the drive on the exact same location as on Emby server. Ergo, the paths are exactly the same on Kodi and on the server. If you use smb/nfs/dav or whatever, it can make a difference. strm files differs as well... As mentioned, probably send me a log and I could find something. Edited February 1 by quickmic
TheFreeMan 30 Posted February 2 Posted February 2 Just a @quickmicnote to say THANKS! Fantastic work rate and response rate, especially over the last few weeks!! Really appreciate your efforts on this - I know how easy it is to get frustrated with all the little bugs that you thought you tested for but missed, and especially answering the same questions over & over again from yet another new user... 1

My Emby server is Linux, and libraries are mapped to a path on that server, and those folders are shared via SMB. I suppose I could try to map the SMB on the server. I assume that would work (mapping drives back to the actual SMB server - seems weird, but should work). Which logs would be best to see? I Assume Kodi logs? Or are the Emby logs that would help? 1

Thanks So I have 2 of the Onn 4k Max devices, and I upgraded the 2nd one today, and it works perfectly. I am going to do some more troubleshooting on my side. might even just wipe it and start from scratch on it. At this point, I don't think it is a code problem, I think it must be something with my install. 1

Both is currently not possible due to Kodi limitations. I recommend "dav". Also keep in mind, the progress depends on (Emby) user accounts. If you use different accounts, the progress is different. Now it works as expected. Thank you again for this super work and fast replies. 1
simpty 1 Posted February 10 Posted February 10 Hi guys, I need your support because I can't access my remote Emby server at all, and I'm a little frustrated right now. I did a fresh installation of CoreELEC / Kodi on my AM6B+. First, I installed EmbyCon, but I couldn't connect to my Emby server; I put in the domain of my server (https://XXX/ciasis/emby), but it won't connect. Then I uninstalled EmbyCon and installed Emby Next Gen (plugin.service.emby-next-gen-12.4.10.zip). I clicked Addon Mode and clicked Manage Servers. I put it in my domain under Host and cleared the port. I installed the Kodi Companion addon on my Emby server, restarted my server, and clicked Connect, but I always get the same error: 401 - Access to Emby is restricted. What am I doing wrong? On my LG TV, everything went smoothly with the Emby app, but on Kodi, it's really a pain.

"https://XXX" is the correct path. Edited February 10 by quickmic
quickmic 1703 Posted February 10 Author Posted February 10 (edited) General info, the latest public testing version might have an issue with osmc. I'll check it. EDIT: Seems to be ok for osmc, but I'll improve it in next version. Edited February 10 by quickmic

I have no problems with the Emby app on my LG TV; it works well with the domain / URL. Which specific log do you need? Should I send it to you via DM or upload it here?

Then try "https://mydomain.com/ciasis, the addon adds "emby". The kodi.log and you can post it here or send it via PM. Do not post debug-mode logs in public, regular are fine. I simply added a backslash at the end of the URL after /emby, after reinstalling the add-on several times, performing a factory reset with the add-on, and restarting my player several times. I don't really know why it worked all of a sudden, but after clicking Connect, it asked me for my username and password. That's such a relief. But now I'm facing the next challenge of finding a skin that looks similar to the Emby app on my TV.. 1
starslayer74 1 Posted February 13 Posted February 13 I'm struggling here, I had the addon working with Kodi but I changed some things on my server and wanted a fresh start. I uninstalled the addon and confirmed to remove all settings associated, restarted Kodi, and then reinstalled, but now it's hanging on "Processing updates" after I sign back in to the server. My log file is attached: https://paste.kodi.tv/tevamaquwe

simpty 1 Posted Sunday at 02:04 PM Posted Sunday at 02:04 PM So I've been running the latest version of the addon for some days, and streaming works so far. Now, I've the following questions: What are the optimal settings to configure the addon? There are so many options, and I honestly don't know which options should be toggled on and off. Until now, I haven't touched most of them, but are there any particular ones I need to change? I simply want to stream from my remote server, nothing more. I just want my player to be a simple playback device, nothing more. Which skin works the best with this addon and is recommended? How can I display my libraries on the left side in the menu? I only see Movies, TV Shows, and Pictures, which is Kodi stuff, I assume

I only see Movies, TV Shows, and Pictures, which is Kodi stuff, I assume The default settings are usually best for most people. I would not change anything if you have no issues or special needs. There is no recommended skin, every Kodi skin works. My personal favorite is estuary mod v2, but that doesn't mean anything. Choose whatever you like, but choose a well supported/active maintained skin. When you like the default Kodi skin, probably try estuary mod v2. It looks exactly the same, but fully configurable. The default skin is static. If you have skin question, please open a new thread. This is the addon support thread. Btw, skin customization is a Kodi matter, not specific for the next-gen plugin or any other plugins. Skin customization are regular Kodi functions. The addon has already several custom nodes you can use for skins, or make your own. Edited Sunday at 02:54 PM by quickmic
dml33 25 Posted Sunday at 04:44 PM Posted Sunday at 04:44 PM (edited) Hi. I am running version 12.4.10 with CoreELEC 22.0-Piers_alpha2 (based on Kodi Piers v22.0 Alpha 2) and Emby Server 4.8.8.0. I notice that, when I start playing a movie or TV Show, it does not start. The first frame is shown in the screen, but I have to push Pause and then Play again to make it actually play. It is happening since I migrated to 12.x branch with 12.4.3. Before this, I was with 11.x branch. For example, with 11.1.22 this was not happening (but, I think I was with Kodi Omega v21.3 or v21.2 then). I have not said anything since there was a lot of development then and maybe it was fixed by itself. I am not sure if it is because of the plugin or due to Kodi. Do you have any hint about this? Thanks! Edited Sunday at 04:50 PM by dml33
