Yeah, check it out, it's really slick how it will match a movie's rating and then play a stinger that matches that rating. I'll report back if I find out how to do it again. 1
JONNHYDARK 1 Posted March 24 Posted March 24 Hi there! First off, I'm a super heavy Emby user and I've been following your work with the latest plugins. I really appreciate what you do. I have a quick question/suggestion. I love customizing my library by replacing actor and crew images in Emby with my own preferred headshots. However, I noticed that when I do this, the changes don't sync over to Kodi via the plugin. It seems like the plugin is always pulling the latest actor images directly from the TMDB API in real-time. Is there a setting in the plugin I'm missing to fix this? If not, would you consider adding a feature in the next update to respect the local artwork changes made in Emby for both movies and TV shows? Thanks for listening!

The plugin uses the images from Emby server not from TMDB, but some custom skins loading artwork from the internet. Anyway, I think the issue might be something else than a skinning problem. Not all changes are reported by the server and the plugin simply doesn't know the change. I will run some tests to identify the issue, but not sure if I can fix it from plugin side. However, I’ve run into a consistent issue: the plug-in fails to sync these custom actor pictures to the individual episode details. It would be amazing if this could be fixed in a future update. Thanks for all your hard work 1

Thanks for all your hard work Will be fixed in next version. There are two issue. One is a plugin issue and the other is a Emby server limtation. Actor artwork will be updated only on Kodi start (in next version). No realtime updates possible, as Emby server does not report actor/person artwork changes via websocket. @LukeMaybe you can support that in next Emby server versions?

danzigman 2 Posted 7 hours ago Posted 7 hours ago I was experimenting with the Home Screen Companion plugin, which requires at least the Emby Server 4.10.0.8 or better (i.e., beta). But I think Emby for Kodi (I tried the latest stable, beta, and public testing versions) does not work well with beta versions of the server: the scanning freezes at a certain point. There's no problem for the latest stable version of the server. Is there an Emby for Kodi version that works with beta versions of the server? (I'm trying the HSC plugin because Kodi takes up too much storage. And Kodi tends to slows down when I move its data to an attached fast USB drive.)
supermood 71 Posted 3 hours ago Posted 3 hours ago hi @quickmic, I'm having 28gig of data in kodi, userdata, icons - which exceeds the space of my ugoos am6b+. Am I doing something wrong or does it have to be so much? (lib is about 1800 movies and 200 shows) I already checked the box for max resolution quality in your addon but that had no effect. maybe I have to delete all cache before, so it saves it again with less quality? is there something you would recommend? many thanks!

Max resolution indeed needs a complete wipe of the cached artwork. Kodi caches the artwork directly (on demand) and is not related to the plugin (beside the compression options). I hope you didn't trigger the artwork cache manually. This forces the download immediately (not on demand). If you are familiar with Linux, you can install a sdcard/usb stick and link Kodis artwork folder to that drive. Only the artwork folder, keep everything else on the nvme internal drive. Don't use Kodi's pathsustition via advancedsettings.xml. Use linux softlinks (ln -s ...) Edited 1 hour ago by quickmic
