dlraven 4 Posted June 11, 2025 Posted June 11, 2025 I've run into an issue that I'm haven't been able to resolve. I'm attempting to add my TV Shows library (Z: or \\tower\tv) to Emby, but the library is always empty. No shows. No folders. Completely empty. Manually rescanning the library does not add the missing data. I've dug through the logs and can only find a single error relating to this folder (see below). The Z: drive is a SMB share on another machine. I have mapped several other SMB shares on the same machine and they all work fine. It's only this directory that's giving me grief. I've removed the credential from Windows and readded it, but still the same issue. I did notice that when I create the library using the mapped drive (Z:), I do see the sub-folders so it does appear Emby can access the share. I've included a screenshot of an example directory from the Emby server and the log file as well. What have I broken? Any thing I can try would be greatly appreciated. Luke 42078 Posted June 11, 2025 Posted June 11, 2025 hi there, how many emby libraries have you created, and what folder paths are added to each one?
dlraven 4 Posted June 11, 2025 Author Posted June 11, 2025 In the attached files, only the TV library. I previously had a movies, book, music, and audio books all working hitting different directories on the SMB server (tower). I can recreate those other libraries, rescan, and add the logs if that'll help.
Luke 42078 Posted June 11, 2025 Posted June 11, 2025 So it's just one library now? What folder paths are added to it?
dlraven 4 Posted June 11, 2025 Author Posted June 11, 2025 Yes, only the one library. It's setup to use \\tower\tv. I have also tried mapping a network drive (Z:), use different credentials, and entered the Unraid credentials for the share. Both methods have the same issue.
dlraven 4 Posted June 12, 2025 Author Posted June 12, 2025 Because I've tried both \\tower\tv and mapping a network drive (Z:) to \\tower\tv. Both result in the same issue.
Luke 42078 Posted June 12, 2025 Posted June 12, 2025 OK try removing Z: from Emby, then add the mapped path back. Then please run a library scan, and after it completes please attach the emby server log. Thanks.
dlraven 4 Posted June 12, 2025 Author Posted June 12, 2025 Here is the log file while using \\tower\tv as the source for TV Shows. Steps to Recreate Log File Restart Emby Server From Library, click the 3 dots and select Scan Library Files. embyserver(2).txt
Luke 42078 Posted June 13, 2025 Posted June 13, 2025 What do you see in the web app when browsing that library?
dlraven 4 Posted June 13, 2025 Author Posted June 13, 2025 Nothing. It's completely empty. Bizarre, isn't it.
dlraven 4 Posted June 13, 2025 Author Posted June 13, 2025 Also completely empty. I know the Emby server can see the contents of that folder. If I setup a mapped network drive to the share (\\tower\tv) and then select that mapped drive letter within Emby when setting up the library, it can see all of the sub-folders, but it's blank within Emby.
Solution dlraven 4 Posted June 13, 2025 Author Solution Posted June 13, 2025 I figured it out. I'm stupid. At some point, I put in a .ignore file in the TV folder causing the entire directory to be ignored. Removed that and everything started working okay. Sorry, for taking up your time and thank you for the assistance. 1
