Hi, it's possible for the future. Thanks.

Hi, this new Apple UI looks quite interesting and seems to be an evolution of the basic Glassmorphism UI design principles that have been around for a while now… A few months ago, I started experimenting with some custom CSS to see how a Glassmorphism effect could potentially be used within a custom Emby theme. I’ve only really tried it on the music Artist and Album detail pages so far…

The LHS images below are mostly standard Emby, with no CSS glass effects applied (but there is some custom HTML applied that has changed the vertical sections order and some overview text). The RHS images below have custom CSS styling applied, that experiments with a gray glass effect and groups the page sections together, into outlined glass panes.

The two main advantages that I have found (for me) are:

  • The vertical sections can be grouped together in a preferred hierarchy (but this can also be done with other styling).
  • The background images can be made brighter (to suit) and the foreground elements can still be visually clear by adjusting the glass see-through effect (to suit).

Right now, it’s just an experiment, but it does begin to show what is possible. (I haven’t decided yet if I want to keep it.) If there is no background image, then no glass panes are functionally necessary, but I still like having the grouping hierarchy and will be experimenting further...

I’m not a developer either (and love custom themes) but I imagine that implementing a Liquid Glass theme as a standard option for Emby, across all platforms, would be a massive task for Luke and team???
