zer0ish 12 Posted June 9, 2025 Posted June 9, 2025 (edited) Bug found after restore. I recently did a fresh install of Emby from a know good backup that I did before the restore. All user came back and everything is working fine but now when I go to a user in the dashboard, there isn't an Authentication Provider anymore for these user. I decided to delete the test user I have and login again with it after and the Authentication Provider came back. Would doing this for all users remove their watch list as well if I was to do this for all user to fix this glitch? While this doesn't see to prevent the LDAP users from connecting, it does make it impossible to change their Auth Provider if I had to change it at some point. Screenshot of the pre-deleted test account: Screen shot of the test user account after deleting it and re-logging in with it: Weird right? Edited June 9, 2025 by zer0ish
zer0ish 12 Posted June 9, 2025 Author Posted June 9, 2025 I fixed it. Seems all the accounts where given the "Allow this User to manage the server" after the restore and this permission makes them an admin account.....I think. Un-toggling that setting seems to have restored the Auth Provider and I was able to change the users back to LDAP method. Not sure why all this was changed after restoring though. 1
Luke 42077 Posted June 9, 2025 Posted June 9, 2025 @zer0ishHi, yes that's odd, but that is why the option was hidden. It's not shown for admin users intentionally in order to avoid having an issue with your LDAP server lock you out of your Emby Server. We'll try and reproduce the all users as admin after restore. Thanks.
