I've also started having this issue.
I use to be able to long-press the center button on my Google TV remove and have a menu appear.
Example, holding the center button on a movie in the movie library would appear with a menu which would allow me to quickly delete it.

Now nothing happens with a long press.

App version 2.1.23g

Hi.  Can you try searching for our standard android app (Just "Emby" on Amazon and "Emby for Android on Google) on the same device's app store and see how that compares?

Thanks.

Hi Luke.
This works perfectly fine on Emby for Android.

is there going to be a fix for this? its probably not that hard to implement. I see there are still sporadic updates to the ATV app. The Android app simply has too many limitations and feels like a phone app running on my big TV.

Hi there, can you please describe what you mean by this? What limitations are you referring to? The app actually has more features.

I'm seeing the same issue on version 2.1.28g on a Thompson 270 box (which is the European version of the Onn ones). The standard android version works without issues long press on a movie that's on deck shows the context menu without issues, but I prefer the TV version as the other app has a few issues for me (doesn't play all files correctly, sometimes videos start with a black screen, and the transitions when backing out of a movie or tv episode details are pretty jarring)

Yes, the non TV version has more features, but the issues i'm having with it make me prefer the TV version.

Hi there, what issue do you have with it?

When long pressing the OK button on the remote on a video that is in continue watching, the TV app doesn't show any context menu so i'm unable to remove something from continue playing for example.

Thompson 270 manual - might be related?

The functionality of the Star button on the remote control

To set the functionality of the Star button, press and hold the Star button. A dialog screen will appear on the
screen where you can use the Star button function as a direct launch of the selected installed application or as
an input selection. Follow the instructions on the dialog screen to configure the Star button function correctly.
After the functionality of the Star button is configured, briefly press this button to directly launch the selected
application installed on your device or to select the specified input.

What remote are you using?

OK. Maybe that remote doesn't send a long press?

The long press on the remote works fine in the non TV app, it's only in the Emby for Android TV app where the long press doesn't work. It works fine in all other apps on the box as well so to me it looks like just an issue with the Emby TV app rather than the remote.

Ok then why not just use the non TV app?

The non TV app struggles with some of my content, it occasionally starts a movie with a black screen, no image but with sound and I find some of the transitions when entering or backing out of an item very jarring. The TV app has none of these issues.

OK have you opened a topic about this?

No not yet as, apart from this long press issue, the TV app does what I need it to do. If I get annoyed at the missing functionality I probably will open a topic for the other issues. Thanks.

I play a lot of content and have used both, don't think I've ever seen this. Must be some specific codec or hw issue?

on the other hand I think its confirmed that the tv app has issues with EAC3, right? I think this was what I posted about in another topic and was told to use the Android app.

Hi.  No, we are not aware of any issues with that format.

perhaps its fixed now but I'd posted about an issue with eac3 (esp with high bitrate) not playing properly, Luke suggested trying the Android app and that worked
