The problem is the remote that GoogleTv comes with only has a d-pad. unlike the Fire devices, there are no ff/play/red or context menu buttons.

So now there's no way to open the context menu in Emby since long press Ok does nothing. So you lose a lot of functionality. But even worse there is now no way to 'remove from continue watchig' since that option is only shown in context menu on home page.

Which app version? I haven't observed any long-press OK issues in a long time. Where are you not getting context menu shown?

Emby for Android TV/GoogleTv, latest version from Play Store.

I don't see context menu on any item. I do see context menu in other apps such as Youtube/

Hi, it would be helpful to provide the specific version number as there are two separate Android apps in the Play Store.

This specific information will allow the Dev team to focus their attention, thanks.

there is only one Emby for Android TV app, which is why I specified it - https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=tv.emby.embyatv

latest version is 2.1.23g in the store

And if you download and install standard Android app from your store (search for "Emb"), how does it compare? Does same occur?

I will try it. I used to run the Android app (vs ATV) on my Firestick because ATV app had issues with EAC3 playback (which are documented here) but I just purchased the new device and tried the regular Emby app it seems to have improved (or perhaps its because of newer Android version - the new Onn 4K plus has Android 14.

the regular Android app UI is too limiting, as its designed for a phone. its layout doesnt make use of large screens, it has modal dialogs that look bad etc. I know the team has decided to focus efforts on it, I hope the UX can be combined soon. I know this is not the place for it but I feel strongly about this.

but regardless of this, why is context menu not implemented with long press? these remotes need this. there is no way now to do basic stuff life remove from watchin etc.

It is implemented, and you're the first one reporting any issues with it in a long time (though I've never seen it being reported as not working at all, it were mostly double-presses).

oh, I thought it just wasn't there. Is there anything in client/server settings to adjust?

I'm using this - Onn 4K Plus

Like "Home Screen Continue Watching row", for example.

oh sorry. examples -

on home screen, in 'next up' or 'continue watching' rows, I want to  long press to see the 'remove from continue watching' option. this is the only place you will see this as its not visible inside the item detail screen

on items in various other screens, long press to do things like 'add to playlist' instead of having to open it, go to '....' meu, then do it.

btw the Android app shows more things such as showing the last playlist in the menu.

Yeah, you should definitely be seeing context menus there; honestly, can't think of a reason why you're not.

If it were an issue with your remote, you'd likely not see it working in other apps either - but if you do have some BT remote laying around, you might test it with that one connected to your box, so remote would definitely be excluded.

Also, you might try unnstalling-reinstalling the app, see if that makes any difference.

I'm seeing this exact issue yesterday as well. Can't bring up long press menu on items in Continue Watching swimlane.

Using 2.1.23g on a brand new Google TV Streamer, using included remote. Fresh setup yesterday

2.1.26g does not appear to fix the issue either

Does long-press work in other apps?

yes, works in other apps. I'm glad some others have chimed in, I've reset, reinstalled etc and was fairly certain its not a end user problem on my end.

With Google TV if you press and hold the microphone you can say 'forward two minutes' 'rewind one minute' etc. I know that doesn't completely solve your question, but it's a really useful feature of Google TV

Hi there, can you please describe your issue in more detail? Thanks.

I've also started having this issue.
I use to be able to long-press the center button on my Google TV remove and have a menu appear.
Example, holding the center button on a movie in the movie library would appear with a menu which would allow me to quickly delete it.

Now nothing happens with a long press.

App version 2.1.23g
