Error adding Emby connect to user

Hello,

 

I am having an issue adding Emby connect to a user. The logs indicate a null error exception for ConnectSeverId.  Any ideas how i can fix? I've confirmed the user created the account.

Not internally. I do have nginx setup as a reverse proxy. Another thing that could be affecting it is that I restored this server from another machine using Emby server backup.

I think I have managed to recreate this issue and it is related to Backup & Restore. Here are my reproduction steps. 

Adding Emby Connect no Backup & Restore

1. create new  instance of emby (I used Docker). 
2. to the first admin user add an emby connect email address.
3. Emby Connect Added Successfully.

Adding Emby Connect with Backup & Restore (Not Restoring Server Id)

1. Create new instance of emby
2. Enter emby premiere key
3. Go restore backup
4. Uncheck Restore Server Id and restore. 
5. Log in with existing admin user
6. go to user and add emby connect email
7. Emby Connect Added Successfully. 

Adding Emby Connect with Backup & Restore (Restoring Server Id)

1. Create new instance of emby
2. Enter emby premiere key
3. Go restore backup
4. Leave Restore Server Id checked and restore. 
5. Log in with existing admin user
6. go to user and add emby connect email
7. Emby connect error. "Parameter ConnectServerId cannot be null"

My theory is that during restore the the server-id is not being set somewhere. 

 

I was able to resolve my issue, by deleting /var/lib/emby/data. Restarting the server and restoring my most recent backup again, without restoring server id. After the restart I was able to add emby connect to users.
