How to merge duplicate actors caused by name changes (via local NFO files)?

Hi

I use local NFO files to store metadata for my media library.

Since an actor changes their name(sometimes a different translation engine generates different names as well), my movie scraper will use their new name, while there are some movies with her old names are already in my library, so the same actor has multiple profiles because of her different names. how to merge them?

Could I change the previous name to the new one, then refresh all metadata and scan the library?

regards

Hi Luke, please check attached images.

The movie scraper generates local NFO data from the latest information on the internet, so there are two profiles since she has changed her name.

how to merge these two profiles?

regards

Have you tried RefreshingvMetadata>Replace all on the movies that person acted under old name?

您是否尝试过刷新元数据 > 替换该人以旧名字出演的所有电影?

I am using existing nfo data so i guess I must change the name on those nfo files then refresh.

i tried this and it works perfectly, but when I did this to another person, it took a very long time to scan the library.

Longer scan time is expected and should be a one-off, as Emby needs to re-read/re-import all changed nfos. After that operation is completed, subsequent scans should be as usual.
