photo library blank/empty

tried creating home videos & photos and also mixed content several times with a folder of photos and no pictures are shown. yes enabled photos is turned on, its on by default. no, its never worked before. i am selecting the direct folder where the images are saved, not levels above it. even levels above it, it was empty.

Hi there, how many Emby libraries have you created, and what folder paths are added to each one?

7 libraries and 6 have a single folder and 1 library has 2 folders. there are no duplicate folders in any library.

He wants to see the folders paths listed for each library; probably to check for the possibility of overlapping paths, which are known to cause problems in Emby.

i figured it out... both the folder name and file names were duplicate with the file name ending in a sequence. removed the duplicate part in the file names and the images are showing up now.

example -

C:\temp\kangaroos named joey\kangaroos named joey 1.jpg

C:\temp\kangaroos named joey\kangaroos named joey 2.jpg

C:\temp\kangaroos named joey\kangaroos named joey 3.jpg

removed "named joey" from the file name, rescanned and the images are showing now.

C:\temp\kangaroos named joey\kangaroos 1.jpg

Thanks for the investigation. I'm not sure this is the reason though.

When you rename a file it will be removed from the Emby database and scanned brand new, so that probably had more to do with it than the file naming.
