WebOS 25 (2025 TVs) - Two issues with UI on 1.0.46

New WebOS 25 - TV 2025 RANGE, OLEDG56LS.AEK

1. The Emby UI sometimes crashes style sheets over each other. For example, I am in a TV library, looking at episode detail, and press back to get to home screen. The home screen appears (horizontal view) and the UI is still showing the old screen behind, with the navigation on the behind screen. Both attempt to display over each other, a right mess! Happened a few times now, and seems to be after a while of playing programmes and then navigating back.

2. When finished playing a TV episode, I press back and get back to the GENRES page in TV library, I then can't scroll down the list of TV shows as remote just halts and cant scroll down the A-Z picker on the side. I have to press BACK key and go into the genre again and it works again. Likes like some sort of pointer gets corrupted at complete guess.

WebOS25 will eventually get to go on the 2024 TV range as they have 4 major WebOS upgrades when you buy an LG TV, in addition to the original shipping version.

I didn't renew with Sony Bravia II OLED as I expected to, as blacks better on LG G5, and although I like Google TV, the frame rate match API only being used by Netflix was the killer, along with LG's better firmware support of 4 major WebOS versions. I can't stand stutter or judder if device can't do frame rate match and the Sony's traditionally have to to use motion controls to try and hide it. Google TV and apps run in 60hz, and in the UK we are 50hz.

LG have fixed Dolby Vision issue, and working on the remaining HDR issue so a firmware fix soon. Also, the G5 was on really good promotion here with 20% off, £200 cashback and free LG £699 Dolby Atmos soundbar and cashback from topcashback and 6 year guarantee from Richer Sounds retailer. The picture is amazing, once tweaked and toned down, and will be even better soon after a firmware update or two. I am still keeping my original LG OLEDC6V as the panel still pristine and clean with no-burn in and last 3D TV of its kind.

Really pleased Emby was in the LG store, so congratulations, no waiting, thank you.

Hi, can you please show a screenshot example? Thanks.

Here you go. I watched a TV episode, then a music video, then a tv episode, stopped half way through marked as played. I might have dipped in and out of another 2 episodes.

I have blurred the main tiles on home page out to obscure what the titles are. You can see the episode details leaking behind the home page (TV Mode, horizontal view). Issue #2 in my top post is very easy to reproduce and happens like clockwork.

Are you able to reproduce these on the shield or fire tv?

Don't have a shield. On the Amazon Fire TV 4K Max (Gen1), I have not seen either issue using the STANDARD Android App, which is my primary Emby app.

I also have the Android TV Emby app installed (just for checking it out) and not seen it on that.

For the above test on the LG WebOS25 on a 2025 G5, I did use the "Memory Cleaner" before I ran Emby to make sure everything was freed up and clean. This is built into the TV menu settings by LG.

Issue #3: When an episode plays its end credits, and the "Continue Watching" and "Next Episode" buttons show, and the countdown indicator of how much time is left on the credits playing till the end, when the episode stops, and you are just with one button, it takes TWO presses of the BACK button on the remote to get back to episode list. It should only be one press of the BACK button.

UPDATE: LG posted another firmware update (33.11.25) @ 1.7GB!

After this, the issue of old backdrop overlaying over current screen hasn't currently happened again. Will continue to monitor.

The other two issues; number 2 in the top first post, and issue #3 in my last post above still stand. Both are incredibly annoying and need to be fixed please :)

LG posting another firmware update in mid June, but this is for picture HDR fix (graduation, black levels, posterisation). I am not expecting anything other than low level changes to screen panel to fix picture faults (on an otherwise top TV and probably TV of the year in the "shoot-out" by various reviewers)
