This will be in Emby Server 4.8.

How it Works:

  • This requires that you enable remembering audio and subtitle track selections. this is enabled by default.
  • The server will first check if you've previously played the video file, just like before, and if it has then it will use your previous track selections
  • If not, then it will look at your last played episode of the same series and attempt to use the same audio and subtitle selections. Essentially it will take the languages of the tracks and put these languages at the front of the language priority list.

Seems to work as expected for audio tracks, but it's completely broken for subtitle tracks. I can't get the subtitles to stick for other episodes under any scenario. Even if I reach the end of one episode with the desired track selected and let it auto play the next episode, it starts with no subtitles selected (or whatever the default would dictate).

Hi @Luke,

I restarted the server and did the following:

  1. Start playing episode 1 of a certain show with the Spanish subtitle track selected.
  2. Seek to the end and let it autoplay episode 2.
  3. See that episode 2 is playing without subtitles.
  4. Closed playback and downloaded the verbose log

embyserver.txt

I tried to get it to remember the subtitle track in all kinds of ways to no avail. It fails with every show: remembers it for the episode I had played but never applies to other episodes. Doesn't matter which client.
