Snarkfish 3 Posted April 25, 2025 Posted April 25, 2025 This is the first time I have seen a video that perfectly mirrors my experience. I receive this choppy video playback on what seems to be HEVC only files (but not all of them, a minority really). I experience this issue on Emby for Android 3.4.36, AND the Google Chrome browser, as well as my Sony Bravia Emby app, so it makes no difference in my situation how I try to view it within Emby. Viewing the file in VLC yields a normal, smooth experience. Also, if I use "Playback Correction" once or twice on the Google Chrome Browser, the same video file plays smoothly. The Emby on Android app does not seem to offer this as an option. It seems fairly evident that it's a codec related issue as when I download for example a 3-pack collection from the same uploader, all three files typically show the same behavior. I did see this in the log from one of the problematic files, but I can't say if it's the issue, nor do I know how to resolve it. 2025-04-24 18:41:32.029 Info App: CodecValidation: Encoder is not compatible with 'D3d11va' decoders (thru Google Chrome) Of course if I redownload the file from a different source the issue is almost always gone, but that's not much of a fix as there are at least a dozen files that behave this way. What else can I provide information wise? embyserver-1.txt
Luke 42077 Posted May 23, 2025 Posted May 23, 2025 @SnarkfishHi, please attach both the emby server and corresponding ffmpeg log files . Thanks.
