MoviezMcGee 2 Posted May 22, 2025 Posted May 22, 2025 (edited) Preface: When I say "playlist library thumbnail", I am referring to the image you see on the home screen of Emby under "My Media" My problem: So, I've noticed that all users have the same playlist library thumbnail, regardless of what playlists they've created. For example, I created the very first playlist out of all the users on my admin account. Even though I deleted that playlist, all other users with playlists still have that playlist as the thumbnail for the playlist library. This is despite them now having their own playlists. I think there are two issues going on here. For one, the playlist library thumbnail is set server-wide and not per-user. So, users will not see their individual playlists represented by this icon, which is confusing and a little ugly. Also, there is a bug where the "Playlist" library shows, even if it is empty, once you've created a playlist. And the library thumbnail is set to whatever playlists the admin created server-wide. Also, even if the only admin playlist is deleted, it will remain as the library thumbnail for everyone else. It is kinda impersonal, and unsightly. Especially in my case. I made one lousy playlist, deleted it, and now the icon that represents playlists for everyone is that playlist tiled 4 times. Maybe not my favorite look... Basically, everyone just sees this mess lol: Proposed solution: Isolate the playlist library thumbnail by user Update the playlist library thumbnail per user, perhaps on a scheduled task and when the first playlist is created for that user, or the last playlist is deleted. If a user deletes all their playlists, don't show the library on the home screen as there is not going to be any possible thumbnail and you also cannot create a new playlist from here anyway. It would just be empty. Edited May 22, 2025 by MoviezMcGee clarify
