Muzakman 1 Posted May 20, 2025 Posted May 20, 2025 I just bought a new Toshiba Fire tv and I installed the app so I could use Emby on it. It installed fine but the login menu where my user name was is gone. It asks to manually enter ip which I correctly did and I keep getting a message that says error. I tried the pin to use Connect and it did nothing. Router is setup to allow the connection. What am I doing wrong? It worked fine on the other tv. I cleared cache even unstalled completely on both and it's the same thing. Please help. This is way above me
pwhodges 2012 Posted May 20, 2025 Posted May 20, 2025 Is your TV on the same network as your Emby server? Have you tried logging in using your server username and password instead of Connect? Paul
Muzakman 1 Posted May 20, 2025 Author Posted May 20, 2025 Yes tv is on the same network. The login doesn't appear anymore, it's gone. All that shows up is sign in with connect. My router is set to allow as my other Toshiba had it and it worked fine
pwhodges 2012 Posted May 20, 2025 Posted May 20, 2025 If the TV and server devices are on the same network, the router shouldn't be involved (other than doling out IP addresses using DHCP). What exact client are you installing? Paul
pwhodges 2012 Posted May 21, 2025 Posted May 21, 2025 Are you using the AndroidTV client, or the newer Android client which is getting most of the development and updates at present. Both are available in the store, I understand. Just posting the version number should tell us which. Paul
