Grimgrim 0 Posted May 19, 2025 Posted May 19, 2025 Hi, I would like to know if it's possible to add search criteria in emby url. Right now the search url after a search is "http://xyz:8096/web/index.html#!/list/list.html?type=search" and I wonder if there is a way to put search criteria like "&criteria=christmas" to search automaticaly. Thanks!
Luke 42077 Posted May 22, 2025 Posted May 22, 2025 Hi, I suppose this could be easily added, but wouldn't creating a Christmas collection be superior?

Hello Luke, On my home server, I have a web site build in PHP / SQL on top of a database, which contain lots of information about my personals videos / photos (title, date, length, type of media, categories, etc.). I found out it's just easier to maintain and to search specific video or photo. And it's not platform dependant, and it's easier to backup. So if, on that web site, I could just clic on a link that goes to my Emby Server (on my local network) with some search criteria, it would be awesome. Example: On my personal web site, I found the video titled "First time snowboard"; Clic on a link generated automaticaly by the web site that could be http://xyz:8096/web/index.html#!/list/list.html?type=search&title="First time snowboard" (or something similar); And that open the Emby result page with, probably, the video titled "First time snowboard" as the first result. Something like that.
Luke 42077 Posted July 12, 2025 Posted July 12, 2025 OK it's certainly doable but it doesn't exist right now.
wishMyBrother 1 Posted January 12 Posted January 12 Hi, new to Emby but I'd echo Grimgrim's request, being able to pass inline search terms via URL would be properly handy. 1
