There is no server error for this.
I signed in on the android app and it tells me the server needs to be updated

The server would still note the login attempt in the logfile. Check with your server administrator.

I'm using it out of the box as it gets set up. I am attempting to move from plex for the simple reason that Emby audio is better managed than plex, but the emby experience has been less than ideal thus far. 

 

Are there any steps I need to take to make this easier to connect, not just for me, but also for the friends and family that I will be migrating from plex once I am satisfied? Eli5

I don't know if I am. I've never had to set up in such detail before.

If you don't know then you are probably not.

Yeah I am still struggling. 

A redditor pointed me in a direction, deleting jellyfin enabled me to use it on my local network but I'm still struggling to access it remotely, have not been able to sort it out yet. Pnp is setup I've setup a port in my router as far as I'm able to figure out but still no luck
