Hello,

1) - My emby server refuse to start ==> No space left on file system / (10 G)

2) - File system /var/lib/emby/cache is heavily populated

3) - Here are folders under /var/lib/emby/cache

image.png.f46e9682a26dfebc8a226216a21058f6.png

/var/lib/emby/cache/temp contain lots of file .jpg (ex : 00f83b0a981a467789ab71ecdf5a12bf.jpg)

4) - I deleted about a hundred files ==> The server was able to restart ==> Ok, the root cause is found

5) - What is the impact on the Emby Media service of regularly clearing the cache?

If no impact: I perform the following task. It will be run periodically from the crontab:

a) - Stop the Emby service
b) - Clear the cache without prior backup
c) - Restart the Emby service

6) - What do you think about this solution ?

Thank you

Hi, the server will automatically delete cache files older than 30 days old, so if that's sufficient for you then you don't need to do anything.

During that time you are free to delete them whenever you wish. deleting under /temp will have no impact, but anywhere else could degrade the performance of the server, so I would see if temp is enough by itself.
