Okay, sorry i misunderstood it as no ratings icons were shown at all. Please follow these steps. Reset the Emby server, go into EmbyIcons settings, change the icon placement of some icon (doesn't matter witch one). Go to the library that you have problems with and then send me the Emby log. It would help a great deal if you also send the EmbyIcons settings file.
yocker 1649 Posted yesterday at 02:11 PM Author Posted yesterday at 02:11 PM @JsinFate Actually looking at your screenshot i think i see a possible problem. Theres no tvdb ratings shown for TV shows, you say they work though. More importantly ratings from mdblists.com are not shown for either movies or TV shows indicating you might have forgotten or entered the wrong API key in the settings. Please check if that is the case.

Community ratings like imdb, rotten tomatos and tvdb do not show up on my server but the same shows are working properly on my personal PC Emby. 1

Edit: Forgot to say to enable debug log in both Emby and EmbyIcons. Edited yesterday at 02:29 PM by yocker
JsinFate 29 Posted yesterday at 02:34 PM Posted yesterday at 02:34 PM (edited) I changed the placement on TV shows to the top right corner. Restarted Emby. Same results. Attaching server log, embyicons configuration file and 2 screen shots comparing the same TV show. One from my PC the other form the NAS / public facing Emby. Personal Emby on PC: Emby installed on NAS for Website: embyserver.txt embyicons.xml Edited yesterday at 02:35 PM by JsinFate clarity of screen shots

I will go through the log and settings to see what i can find.
JsinFate 29 Posted yesterday at 02:48 PM Posted yesterday at 02:48 PM Yes, I was able to get tvdb to appear by messing with priority settings and completely refreshing all TV metadata.
yocker 1649 Posted yesterday at 02:57 PM Author Posted yesterday at 02:57 PM (edited) @JsinFateI connected the TV series ratings to the same fallback that movies use. I also noticed in your settings that no MDBlist API key is configured. Try the latest beta in the catalog (v5.54.5) and see if that fixes the problem. After install you might have to change the corner location of some random icon to have the cache cleared and the icons redrawn. Edited yesterday at 02:59 PM by yocker 1
JsinFate 29 Posted yesterday at 02:59 PM Posted yesterday at 02:59 PM That's strange because I signed up for a API key. I'll add it back and try your suggestions.
JsinFate 29 Posted yesterday at 03:09 PM Posted yesterday at 03:09 PM I'll be damned, it was the API key after all!! Weird how it just disappeared. Thank you for all your help. AGAIN. Haha 1

Nice to hear it works for you now again, enjoy!! Also thanks for your patience.

Having a custom tag for videos with posters were the icons would be covering the text of the poster would require the user to manually add a tag to every video doing that. It would be A LOT of work on some libraries. Look @yocker, this is the plugin I was referring to. With this plugin, I can easily add tags in bulk to multiple items at the same time, without having to open each item individually and add the tags one by one. So, in my case, using tag-based icon position overrides would not be too much work, because I could select several movies, seasons, or series at once and apply the same tag to all of them using bulk editing. 1
JsinFate 29 Posted 3 hours ago Posted 3 hours ago @yockerI have a question. Can EmbyIcons interfere with how Emby downloads covers / posters? For the past week since I've been really getting into setting up EmbyIcons, I noticed that every time I add a movie / tv show, Emby always grabs the worst possible quality poster. They are always the smallest size too being 200 x 300. I haven't changed anything in how Emby downloads metadata and images and this could be a coincidence, but it's happening with everything I add to Emby. I will try to trouble shoot later today by renaming the EmbyIcons DLL and rebooting and see if it still downloads poor quality images.

The plugin takes the posters that emby gives it and draws on them, it does not dictate what to download. If I had to guess you don't use English and the posters for your language might be poor quality.
JsinFate 29 Posted 2 hours ago Posted 2 hours ago I have English set as my preferred language fetcher settings. I'll probably create a new post about it and see if anyone else is having issues. Thank you again!

Okay, was just a guess as the plugin only works with what Emby gives it, so I sadly have little idea 1
