Allow remote control of shared devices - Needed for casting?

Hi,

I thought I read somewhere that in order for a user to cast to a device in their own network, this setting needs to be enabled. I may be mistaken but wanted to check in on this setting to confirm exactly what it does.

Thanks for any clarifications.

Hi, not for Chromecast, but for Dlna, yes.

Just to clarify, that means if a user has a DLNA device within their own network, it allows them to control that. It has no bearing on a DLNA device on the server subnet or other users networks?

Dlna devices are only detected on the server network at this time.

Ah okay, so if I gave this to a user, they would be able to control any DLNA devices on my server network?

Correct. It would be better to have the clients detect the devices rather than the server, but we haven't added that yet.
