(Well, that's universally true of anime - I can't think of a suitable live TV show to check). Paul
norm04468 15 Posted May 9, 2025 Author Posted May 9, 2025 if you go to kodi in movie section then right click on movie, click manage, then select link to tv show, the movie shows up in the TV shows. Thats what I would like to do in emby so you can see the related movie in the tv shows.
norm04468 15 Posted May 10, 2025 Author Posted May 10, 2025 I was looking for a way within emby without creating a stream link, can we get this feature added into emby something similar to kodi. It would be nice since there is quite a few movies tied to tv shows. is there a forum that this can be requested for future releases. Thanks

(Well, that's universally true of anime - I can't think of a suitable live TV show to check). Futurama (thetvdb id 73871) Has 4 Movies that are listed as Specials and also listed as movies. Benders Big Score is either S00E02 or Movie #7706, as your choice. As S00E02 it will play after season 5 episodes, but with Emby options you can change that, or you can list it as a separate movie.
norm04468 15 Posted May 10, 2025 Author Posted May 10, 2025 I have checked the specials listings and unfortunately the tv shows i have related to movies don't list them. im not a programmer so i don't know how to write the nfo files to make them show up, thats why i was asking for this feature. I can do it in kodi but I really like emby better, its more user friendly for the family.

There just won’t be any Internet metadata but you can use the metadata editor in Emby server to fill things in.

It is quite easy to add the movies as specials and provide the metadata by copying from elsewhere. Then others would benefit from your effort. You could add the movies to Emby as movies, and then add them also as specials to the show(using strm files rather than duplicating the media); your metadata would then be fetched from TVDB where you had added it. norm04468 15 Posted May 10, 2025 Author Posted May 10, 2025 I have a subscription to tiny media manager and use that program to scrape my files. I usually scrape from TMDB mainly because it seems to have more information than TVDB, Is TMDB an open database? How would I go about creating a strm link fille is there a program I need. Thanks

Thanks You can use TMDB as your primary provider. All that is required is you change the order of the providers in your library set up, and maybe enable TMDB. After you do that you should refresh metadata on your library as editing the providers only applies to new entries. No STRM file needed.
