anonymouscat888 0 Posted May 8, 2025 Posted May 8, 2025 Hello, I found this old post and I have a question. I have my media library on a NAS and the folders are mapped to Windows using drive letters, M:\ for movies for example. Windows is running the actual Emby server. I turned off my NAS for a bit and noticed that Emby started removing the movie files from the database. After about 10 minutes, I turned my NAS back on and noticed that the images and movie information for almost all my movies was gone. I'm now rescanning the library to repopulate this information. The actual files on the NAS were not affected. Is there a setting in Emby that I can change to prevent this from happening in the future? I have now turned off "real time scanning" hoping this will prevent any future issues. Perhaps this is a Windows issue from the way they treat mapped network drives? I'm not sure. Any insight to this would be very helpful. Thank you!

anonymouscat888 0 Posted May 9, 2025 Author Posted May 9, 2025 Hello, adding this to the chat as well. embyserver-63882306159.txt
RanmaCanada 495 Posted May 14, 2025 Posted May 14, 2025 This sounds like normal operation. If the files aren't there, the libraries will empty as there is nothing for them to catalogue. You can't expect the library to still function if there is nothing in the library, right? 1
