carbonbaseunit 19 Posted May 8, 2025 Posted May 8, 2025 Hi, I'm using Emby for Android 3.4.67 on a 2019 Nvidia Shield pro. When I tell Google Home to "Pause Shield" while running Emby it does exactly that. The Emby screen saver will come on in a few minutes while on pause. When I tell Google Home to "Resume Shield" the media will start but the screensaver continues. You can hear the audio from the media while this is happening. This doesn't happen on other apps.
Luke 42077 Posted July 12, 2025 Posted July 12, 2025 @carbonbaseunitHi, do you mean the screensaver feature built into our app, or the device screensaver?
carbonbaseunit 19 Posted July 12, 2025 Author Posted July 12, 2025 The one in your app. If I use the remote it works as it should, but if I just use voice it's as stated in my original post.
Gilgamesh_48 1240 Posted July 15, 2025 Posted July 15, 2025 Yet another reason to not use screen savers. I do not use them. If an app needs to automagically pause a blank screen is the best way. But I only use that on my phone as lighting up the screen takes energy so reduces battery life. For devices that are plugged into external power screensavers are nothing but fluff. Of course "fluff" is sometimes pretty but I watch content not the interface or screensavers. But screensavers should always be a user choice and should ALWAYS go completely away on the first user interaction.
