eyoung70 0 Posted May 8, 2025 Posted May 8, 2025 Can't find a way to override the sidebar language text? Eric

Luke 42078 Posted May 8, 2025 Posted May 8, 2025 Can you please show a screenshot example? Hi, where is the language set to English? Thanks.
eyoung70 0 Posted May 8, 2025 Author Posted May 8, 2025 Yeah, sorry. I should've done that from the start. You can see everything is in English except for Live TV. No matter how many times I try to switch the language to something else and then back to English, this one menu item never changes.
eyoung70 0 Posted May 8, 2025 Author Posted May 8, 2025 Everything in English except for the heading at the top of the view. Its literally just this one menu item. Even when I manage the server, the menu item on the sidebar for Live TV says Live TV in english. It just seems to be the client views. It shows in spanish on iOS and in a browser.
Luke 42078 Posted May 8, 2025 Posted May 8, 2025 OK when live TV gets setup, a section on the server gets created and saved in the database based on the server language. Changing your display settings in an Emby app won’t impact that.
eyoung70 0 Posted May 8, 2025 Author Posted May 8, 2025 So once its set to a language inside this database, it cannot be changed?
eyoung70 0 Posted May 8, 2025 Author Posted May 8, 2025 Or could I open up a particular db file into sqlite browser and make the change myself?
eyoung70 0 Posted May 10, 2025 Author Posted May 10, 2025 So is my only recourse to nuke the server and start again just to change out that one label?
Solution eyoung70 0 Posted May 11, 2025 Author Solution Posted May 11, 2025 (edited) Nevermind. Figured it out myself. For anyone else that has this problem, you have to grab a sqlite db manager utility and open up the data/library.db file. Then, open up the MediaItems table and search for the string in question ("TV en directo"). Just edit the string to Live TV or whatever, write the changes back to the db, and when you load up Emby again, it should show the correct menu text. Edited May 11, 2025 by eyoung70 fixed
