Emby stuttering on playpack and the website hangs up often.

A few months back I started noticing a stuttering.

My server is on a mac (Montery - it's an iMac so it's stuck on that), my library is about 7TB. I access it either from my AppleTV or from the emby app on the iMac itself.

I noticed it a while back, and see it quite often on various content, that it will repeat a second or two's playback and the audio lipsync will be slightly out. The lipsync usually (but not always) recovers.

The files, configs etc haven't changed, so no idea why it happened, much like the broken 'next episode'. It just started one day and never recovered.

Sorry don't check in very often so I didn't see this. It seems to have been better this last week or two, or at least I haven't noticed. Usually it recovers itself so it's not a massive annoyance.

Bit preoccupied at the moment, not very well. If I do notice it again and it really irritates me then I will try and report it.

It's done it a number of times today. So it is still doing it, I tend to half watch and be doing other things. I have saved the logs but can't face raising it at the moment.

What do you mean by can't face raising it?

I'm not very well. I did have a quick look in the logs but all my playlists etc are in there so I would have to spend quite a while sanitising them, I don't want to be posting a list of my media on a public forum - habit I suppose I used to work in security, and at the moment I am just not up to it.

I have found this happens with av1 encoded stuff on apple tv.  Sometimes with subtitles they just stop working as well.  I have to restart the app or the appletv to sort it.  The subtitle thing just takes a restart of the app.  Is there some commonality between the codec that is being used or is it direct playing?  I have issues with av1 on apple tv direct playing.  I have a disturbing amount of media.  If you give me the stats on a file that is causing you issues, bit rate codec, audio streams, subtitles I might be able to find something similar.  Cheers!!
