If login last user or login a selected user is enabled, switching profiles does not require a password. Android TV - I don’t think I’ve changed or set any particular setting, but I can check when I’m home tonight. Once logged in, the password is remembered and the select user screen comes up every time allowing users to access their profile without any auth. iPhone client auto logs in as the last user and doesn’t require passwords for user switching for the 2 last user accounts. Selecting Change User does show a login page Testing the browser, it is the same as Android TV. The only time I notice a difference on the web, is when connecting off network, it requires auth every time, which is ideal. I don’t have a Roku. It’s been a long time since I’ve used WebOS on my TV but I remember it being the same as Android TV.
Luke 42077 Posted December 1, 2025 Posted December 1, 2025 I mean in the Emby app, not the platform’s profile system.

I set it show login screen and it remembers the password for all users that have previously been logged in, which is what I would prefer for Apple TV. This is my experience on the Apple TV. The password is remembered and I have show login screen.

Then what’s going on with my setup… i have 3 Apple TVs and it’s all the same. A password is required every time if show user selection is enabled. @SamES

You can switch between users and they are not prompted for password unless they sign out. On ATV, when 'Show login screen' is selected we're not remembering their password and they need to enter the password on each user switch, even if they have previously logged in. Assuming thet the web app function is the expected behaviour, then we will need to update the ATV to do the same.

In addition, if the Startup Behaviour is set to 'Remember last user' then signed in users are remebered and you can switch between users without re-entering the password, so this behaviour just needs to be replicated for the 'Show login screen' option so that it matches the web app (assuming of course that the web app is correct)

I enabled PINs for right now and they’re just 0000 but still not ideal. it’s funny though, because randomly it will skip the pin and sign a user in.
gthrift 64 Posted December 26, 2025 Posted December 26, 2025 Came home from being gone for Christmas and my Apple TV updated to 2.0.3 (2) and can now log in with show user selection without pin or password. Thanks for the update and accepting our feedback, @Luke 1
