ALLSTAR1986 15 Posted May 6, 2025 Posted May 6, 2025 (edited) Hello, what are the differences between Samsung and the Android version (Zidoo Z9X Pro)? Are there any differences? I have a Samsung S95C OLED TV from 2023, can I play everything with this TV just like with my Zidoo Z9X Pro including HDR10 and HDR10+? So the Emby player uses the codecs from the TV? What about DTS sound, the TV can only play Dolby formats, will I not be able to play them on the TV or? Yesterday I played a movie with HDR10+, but I couldn't check anywhere whether it was really played in HDR10+. Only in the picture settings, where it only said HDR. How do I check that? With external devices, you can click on the OK button in the middle and then see which resolution and HDR format. I can't see that on the Emby Player on the TV. Edited May 6, 2025 by ALLSTAR1986
SamES 1056 Posted May 6, 2025 Posted May 6, 2025 Did you check Stats for Nerds in the menu during Playback?

The TV app uses the Tizen player and thus will be restricted to what is specified in the video specifications chart of your user's manual for direct playing. However, it "should" play just about everything else transcoded. Things like TrueHD, DTS, PGS subtitles, will all get transcoded. The only Dolby formats Tizen supports is AC3 and DD+ (with or without Atmos). I myself prefer to keep a compatibility audio and subtitle track for all my movies and select them before clicking play in order to avoid transcoding. Example chart for 2023, there should be others for subtitles, music, etc in the same section of the manual. https://developer.samsung.com/smarttv/develop/specifications/media-specifications/2023-tv-video-specifications.html 1 1
