I have recently purchased Xiaomi tv (https://www.mi.com/in/product/xiaomi-x-pro-qled-tv/) which states that it support Dolby Vision & HDR, format  however emby is unable to play a sample file for DV profile 7.6 and neither falls back to HDR and just keeps on loading.

When i'm trying to play the file in TV via USB/Flash drive, it is playing on HDR,  but emby is unable to play it in HDR format.

Here's the MediaInfo for the the file.

It is rare for a device to support DV profile 7 - on the mainstream devices, I only know of one device that plays them and that is the Shield 2019.

Try a DV profile 5 (no HDR fallback) or DV profile 8.x (HDR fallback).

You can convert the DV 7 to DV8 with online tools if required.

I'm not sure why it is not falling back to HDR though - as it should.

Do you have a link to the online tools?

I had a conversation with Xiaomi customer care, it seems TV is unable to decode DV profile 7 and it should fallback to HDR, but emby is not doing it

While playing same video file via usb drive, it is working on HDR format.

Looks like issue with emby, it is not supporting HDR fallback.

Android TV OS version: 14

Kernel Version: 5.15.148

@ebrThanks for clarifying disk version dolby profile on another post.

Is there any way (emby settings) that i can force emby to play only HDR version of disc, instead of Dolby version.

Hi, yes this kind of fallback is something we can look into. Thanks.

Hi, please try 3.4.88+ and let us know how things compare:

We've added automatic fallbacks directly into the player. No server transcoding or operations required. Please try it out and report your experience. Thanks !

@LukeI tried the last update for Emby which is 3.5.28 but unfortunately it still doesn't fall back to HDR10 when it is DV profile 7.6 on my Ugoos AM8, Android TV app works and fallbacks but it converts 7.1 atmos to AC3 5.1 at the same time when it shouldn't. Can you please add a manual option to force HDR10 fallback on the android app? And fix converting Atmos audio when falling back on the android tv app? Thanks a lot
