Is 'Next Up (Legacy)' broken? It doesn't appear for me

hi

 

ive been using the 'Next Up (Legacy)' as my main home screen section to keep tabs on what im watching and it recently vanished for me. i tried server resetting and toggling the section selection to a different section and back and neither have brought it back. is there anything i can do to get it reappear?

 

im running server version 4.8.11.0 and it says its up to date

Do you actually have any episodes that should show in Next Up (legacy) row? 

Does Continue Watching row shows if you enable it?

FWIW: I use the Next up legacy as my primary row for watching TV. I have no problems with it and it shows what it should. 

To verify the correctness of Next up legacy I keep an row at the very end of my home screen for Continue watching and, if i think something is wrong with one I can look at the other to verify that the database is being correctly rendered by the Legacy row.

i should at least, i had all the shows i was watching in my 'Next Up' and the row suddenly vanished over the past couple days. even marking the first episode of an unwatched show as 'watched' doesnt cause the list to reappear

'Continue Watching' does appear and does populate with shows i have watched, but seems to only show episodes that i watched a portion of/didnt finish or watched a brief segment from. the shows i was actually watching arent showing in that list

From my understanding that is exactly how "continue watching" should work if Next up legacy is being used. It works differently if Next up legacy is not being used. I have not, recently, used continue watching without having next up legacy also used so i really do not know what the stand alone behavior of continue watching should be.

In that case all of your shows should be listed in Continue Watching row, either partially played or next unplayed episodes.

is there anyway to get Next Up Legacy to work properly though? Continue Watching doesnt behave the same way and i prefer the way Next Up Legacy behaves.

looking at the Activity (picture 1), you can see i just watched episode 12 of 'Undead Unluck' (episode titled 'Activate') but it remains in the third slot of Continue Watching (picture 2), when if the section was Next Up Legacy, it would be moved to the first slot

That's odd, as it should also be displayed in the first slot in Continue Watching row; based on your Next Up (Legacy) not listing any items at all and your Continue Watching row having items out if order, it would appear that something is off with your system - for test purposes, could you:

1) Confirm that Next Up (Legacy) is not selected as a Home Screen section (select None instead), and have only Continue Watching row enabled

2) Mark Unded Unluck S01E13 Played - where does S01E14 show in Continue row? 

3) Mark Undead Unluck Played on series level (which'll mark all episodes played), and then mark it Unplayed (click Play again) on series level, then click Played on first 12 episodes - where does E13 show now?

okay it appears to be working normal today! i do have Next Up Legacy disabled as it doesnt display anything. but i did also try removing all sections and adding Next Up Legacy to see if it would appear then but it just showed a loading circle infinitely

maybe the Continue Watching section was just experiencing a bug with my system last night
