podonnell 47 Posted May 5, 2025 Posted May 5, 2025 Hi, I have a playlist I added to Emby, but it doesn't belong in my 'TV' library since its just a web series that is not official, has no IMDB/TVDB/etc.. entries, but it does have 'episodes'. I would like to have this item appear on my home screen and allow me to watch in sequence, remembering where I left off. Is my only option for this to make a new library with the setting that makes it appear in continue watching? I do have a library that is more fitting for the item, but that library globally has the setting off that shows where I left off and continue watching functions. There's no way to individually allow an item to put itself in continue watching otherwise, is that right? If not, is there anything better than creating a whole new library for this?
Luke 42078 Posted May 5, 2025 Posted May 5, 2025 Hi, yes the best thing to do is make it part of a TV library with internet metadata providers disabled: TV Naming 1

I'm going to have content like say youtube documentaries as well as mini series that aren't "aired", so I wanted to account for 'movie-like' media as well. I also don't know if the meta-data type matters at all because I am likely going to fully manually handle the metadata side of things. Any concerns with the type I chose outside of that? Thanks!
Luke 42078 Posted May 6, 2025 Posted May 6, 2025 No known issues. You just have to follow naming guidelines a bit more strictly. 1

In mixed content it is the naming conventions that determine if a video is detected as a movie or episode of a series. 1

Got it, fully understood - thanks. Last question - I'm pretty sure no is the answer, but is there a way to prevent seeing the 'Latest' section for a library, but allow it to show up in Continue Watching?

Currently no, they are tied to the same setting for that.
