Cover Art downloading at lowest possible resolution??

Recently anything added to my server downloads cover art at 574x800 and i have to manually replace every single cover, was there something changed that i missed? or does anyone know why this would have started to happen suddenly? The really weird part is that when i search to replace the cover, that resolution isn't even available, very confused with this one.

What are you calling cover art?

What provider is your images provider order?

But can't say I see any images that low on TMDB/Fanart/TVDB.  Only images with that low of resolution I see would be Music images.

@Happy2Playsorry mate got tied up with work, see screenshot all artwork downloads like this, movies, tv series always the same default resolution, my server has been running over a decade and its never done this before?

Settings all appear correct, in fact i haven't touched them, this just started happening, previously artwork downloaded at a decent resolution.

Looks correct but do not see that image at that resolution an any of those providers.

As you can see the search results above does not even have your image at that resolution.  In theory either it is embedded in the media or you manually chose that image.  But need server log for when media was imported and image gotten.

Oh this i know mate, even my searches do not return an image that low in resolution hence my coming here to ask where the hell its coming from lol

I don't see how it could be embedded, it's happening on every single file i add, tv show or movie, unless the scene groups have all at once suddenly taken to embedding low-res images into everything, but even that doesnt make sense, i add a new tv series with no files and it still downloads the low-res image so ther is no possible way its getting an embedded image.

I'll add a couple at once after i finish work and then grab the log and see if that helps pin it down.

I would ensure you have debug logging enabled so you can see the save process also.

Not sure where the image comes from but are you saying if you Refesh with replace image you get the same results?

If i tell it to search for images i get results the same as you, exactly as expected, i am at a loss where this low-res image is being grabbed from.

I haven't tried a refresh and replace images, i will try that now.

EDIT: Refresh metadata with replace images turned on still returns the 574x800 image @Happy2Play

Will have to test but you got a 680x1000 image but not sure if this is an old issue as I don't remember it applying to movie/tv.

Not sure if debug logging will show more info.

@Lukewill have to comment then as I cannot reproduce this in 4.8.11.0

Also is this just on the Smart-TV?  Does the web client show the same?

And is the artwork within the media folder that low resolution?

This is on the web client mate, I use NVidia Shields on every tv in the house but never do any management on them, (I also use the old emby android tv app on those, not a fan of the new one). So yeah all my testing and admin management is done using the web app on a pc.

I'll disable coverart and do a test but that will have to wait a hot minute mate, just got handed a ton of music to process for work so best get it done haha

OK, @Happy2Playafter much aggravation, i have worked this one out, i dropped a library and rebuilt it, still had the same problem, i then noticed it only existed in the main movie and tv libraries, the lesser used libraries were fine, so i figured it had to be a setting and went forensic on them and found the culprit.

With this setting turned off (see screenshot) all cover images came in at the low and weirdly stupid resolution.

I turned this back on and woohoo we were back to full HD cover being auto downloaded.

Interesting as I get the same results with it enabled or disabled as I got the same 1000x1486 image from fanart.tv.  But glad it is working again.

I did reverse test it as well mate, turning it off again put me right back to shitty small images lol no idea what's happening but wanted to let you know that's what was causing it.
