nospotify 184 Posted May 4, 2025 Posted May 4, 2025 Many of the reported problems with Trakt are Trakt's fault, and for many of us simply reconnecting Emby & Trakt makes the problems go away. But now I'm having a very puzzling problem with Emby & Trakt where Emby seems to be sending only some watch information. Example screens and log attached. Emby apparently sent watch info for one watched show but then not the *immediately* subsequent show, and for an earlier example sent binary watched *status* but not the correct progress amount. What's the problem here and how can it be fixed? embyserver-63881913600.txt
Luke 42078 Posted May 4, 2025 Posted May 4, 2025 HI there, can you please provide a specific example? How to Report a Problem Thanks !
nospotify 184 Posted May 4, 2025 Author Posted May 4, 2025 @Luke Endeavour S05E03 played and ended, as correctly indicated (blue highight) in both Emby and Trakt. 30 minutes later an episode of WLIIA played and ended, as indicated in Emby but NOT Trakt (red). See screen shots and log below. embyserver-63881913600.txt
Luke 42078 Posted May 5, 2025 Posted May 5, 2025 Trakt is sending a not found response, which means something in their series or episode metadata doesn’t match yours . Can you check the external ids for the series in the metadata editor? Are they correct?
nospotify 184 Posted May 5, 2025 Author Posted May 5, 2025 (edited) Aha - that was the issue: Emby had assigned wrong TVDB ID when importing, which I never noticed because for some reason Emby did pull the correct cover images. Should the correct TVDB ID be the SERIES ID or the different SEASON IDs applied differently to each season? Edited May 5, 2025 by nospotify 1
nospotify 184 Posted May 6, 2025 Author Posted May 6, 2025 @Luke I had a conversation with the trackt developers, and they say they don't use tvdb they only use tmdb. In Emby it is possible to manually delete the tvdb ID for an entire series, but there seems not to be a metadata option for tmdb id on the information page for an individual season of a TV show. It's not a common occurrence, of course, but inconsistencies like this between the two databases do crop up occasionally. So what's the right way to handle this?
Luke 42078 Posted May 6, 2025 Posted May 6, 2025 Quote there seems not to be a metadata option for tmdb id on the information page for an individual season of a TV show Hi, what makes you think this?
nospotify 184 Posted May 6, 2025 Author Posted May 6, 2025 (edited) 1 hour ago, Luke said: Hi, what makes you think this? Really? It's because when I go to the edit metadata screen of a single season the only external id provider is tvdb. Android app (3.4.65), Pixel 8a phone. Look for yourself: Edited May 6, 2025 by nospotify
Luke 42078 Posted May 6, 2025 Posted May 6, 2025 Right, sorry. Tmdb seasons don't have an Id. They just have a number. So that needs to be correct, along with the external id's for the series.
