JGelps 0 Posted May 4, 2025 Posted May 4, 2025 Just installed a fresh copy of windows 11 to find out that Emby Theater has become Emby for Windows. I noticed the Suspend/Sleep and Shutdown options are gone from the menu. Are those coming back? I primarily use my PC for Emby, so not being able to use a controller to put it to sleep now is pretty annoying. And it wouldn't be that bad if the PC sleep would actually work. It seems that Emby is keeping the PC from sleeping? At least when media is paused, but I think all the time. Is there a way around this?

Yes, these are on the list for the next major update. 4 minutes ago, JGelps said: but I think all the time Are you sure about that? There hasn't been any other report stating this.. JGelps 0 Posted May 4, 2025 Author Posted May 4, 2025 (edited) Woohoo good to know on the sleep options! I will poke around. I've just installed 11 for the first time and haven't activated it yet. But the only time it's slept at the time limit I have set is when the app is closed. Is it expected to keep the PC awake if it's paused? And if I'm not in some media it should sleep? Theater would sleep either way. Edited May 4, 2025 by JGelps
JGelps 0 Posted May 5, 2025 Author Posted May 5, 2025 Yea unfortunately Emby keeps the PC awake if it's on a paused show or at the main menu. This is on a brand new activated install of Windows 11.
softworkz 5066 Posted May 9, 2025 Posted May 9, 2025 I'm not sure whether it's even technically possible to pause during video playback when GPU acceleration is involved, so I don't believe we can change that part. But what do you mean by "on the main menu"? You start the app, do nothing and the PC doesn't sleep?
JGelps 0 Posted May 9, 2025 Author Posted May 9, 2025 By main menu I mean at the home screen of Emby. Doesn't work on any screen inside Emby when it's a full screen app. I can try it windowed if that gives you any ideas. In Theatre it worked no matter where you were in the app as long as a video wasn't actively playing. So something about being a windows app made it weird.
