tOLJY 52 Posted May 3, 2025 Posted May 3, 2025 I have enabled the new return to login screen so it doesn't automatically launch into my son's profile, he sees paw patrol and has a tantrum when we immediately change to another profile... Standard stuff. But now I've found we need to add our password/pin every single time and it's really intrusive. I maintain a local only instance and would actually prefer no password at all - what are my options for this? Am I able to either remove passwords altogether or actually get the app to remember them (it seems to forget them as soon as I try log in again)?
tOLJY 52 Posted May 3, 2025 Author Posted May 3, 2025 Okay so on further investigation, seems like it does work. Setting remember me on login directly seems to modify that setting back to remember last user. So unrelated to password woes. What I think is required here is a server setting to - selectively ignore password requirements or - allow admins to remove passwords for users or - not require them at all (my preference) - my instance is secured and will never see the outside world, or - save password hash between login sessions so you can log in again without needing to provide a password

tOLJY 52 Posted May 9, 2025 Author Posted May 9, 2025 (edited) Yeah. It's not quite right for the reasons I outlined earlier. I don't want to have to put in my pass or pin every time I log back in on my local access only server. Edited May 9, 2025 by tOLJY

tOLJY 52 Posted May 9, 2025 Author Posted May 9, 2025 (edited) No idea, did it a while ago - I think I read something that said I now had to. As far as I can tell there is no way to unset a pin? Edited May 9, 2025 by tOLJY
Solution tOLJY 52 Posted May 9, 2025 Author Solution Posted May 9, 2025 So I had set a password, not a PIN. But still found it wasn't working. So I thought, what is notable about my configuration? Everyone is an admin. So I removed admin for an account and found I could clear the password. And did it for all users and now can confirm it is working. It wasn't particularly clear that admin privileges related to all of this, I suggest adding a tooltip or info popup to the 'allow this user to manage the server' setting outlining what it does and what restrictions it comes with. 1
