Not automatically no.

But it has the functionality to technically add it - but strangly you need a 3rd party Plugin to even do that.

(Edit) - All Apps now support this manually added information.  By this I mean the OSD will bring up the 'Next Episode' at the desired time and then you need to manually select to proceed to the next episode - there is no option (unlike the original Intro-skip Plugin..) to actually automatically 'skip' the credits and immediately start the next episode without manual intervention.

How does skip credits functionality work with post-credits scenes?

It doesn't - and they cannot be detected automatically - but these are pretty rare so we decided not to even try and accomodated in the original Plugin design.    A manual marker might work - but vs the development work to add to the clients, personally, I do not think it's worth the effort.

Post-credit previews of the next episode are very common in anime, and actual parts of the drama in that position are not uncommon.

A fair point.   Thanks, I didn't consider that Genre.

The issue is Emby only implemented CreditStart in the enum options -

ChapterInfo{
StartPositionTicks	integer($int64)
Name	string
ImageTag	string
MarkerType	MarkerTypestring
x-internal-ref-name: MediaBrowser.Model.Entities.MarkerType
($enum)(Chapter, IntroStart, IntroEnd, CreditsStart)
ChapterIndex	integer($int32)
}

.. the original Plugin had CreditEnd as well.   Thus you could auto-skip to CreditEnd - and then carry on with Playback and naturally finish the post credit video and then roll onto the next item.

I guess a lot of the work would be in the Emby clients - as currently Emby doesn't actually give you any 'skip' options for CreditStart - I believe it just brings up the 'Next Episode' at the time specified by CreditStart - no good for this scenerio.

@LukeMaybe simply adding CreditEnd to the above values (and updating ChapterApi) would be a good first step, even if the values are not currently used.

I see JF have taken it one step further as well - and now included

  • Commercial
  • Preview
  • Recap
  • Outro
  • Intro

In their Media Segments ...

How exactly does this work? Where can I input the desired time? Emby offers me the next episode button now when there is about ten seconds left in the show.

You can use the ChapterAPI plugin to input credit markers manually.

Is there a way to skip the end credits automatically? If it’s too hard to do any detecting, how about giving people the ability to chose credit length of any show (most shows have roughly the same credit length for each episode) and then giving the option between an automatic skip, skip button or neither

There was a plugin that could detect credits automatically, but the devs killed it. Years ago. Their own implementation hasn't been touched since.

It could skip the credits too if you turned on that option.

I believe most of the current Apps now use the CreditStart (if available) to display the 'Next Episode' skip button - but I don't believe there is an option to skip to the next episode automatically.  Shame really, as it could simply Notify 'Now Playing Next Episode' instead of 'Skipping Intro' if you have it set to Auto as an option in the client.

Is there a Feature Request thread about this? I searched for one to add my support for it, but this is the closest thread I’ve found. I’m happy to start one myself, but don’t want to clutter the forum with duplicate requests.

I don't think there is a dedicate one just for credit skip - worth starting one imo.

I actually have a.. Somewhat functioning credit detection plugin working that me and a friend have made and then sadly more or less abandoned... Nothing that's ready in any way for use.
All it does is detect similar image and sound patterns between episodes 80% into the episodes.
It then spits out a file like this:

Credits Start: 00:22:36
Timestamp (seconds): 1356.05
Episode: Like a Boy
Series: Cyberpunk: Edgerunners
Season: 1, Episode: 2
Analysis completed: 2025-12-20 14:37:44

Don't know if i will ever get the plugin done though as it's rather complex.

Anyway.. My point is, it is durable to make it and have it be semi accurate, specially if Emby supports the CreditStart marker.

Edit: Just tested i, can see we actually got more work done than i thought, it actually does write the data to Emby and has very good accuracy. Maybe i should try and finish it.
