gong700 4 Posted April 30, 2025 Posted April 30, 2025 Because I need to show my users “Recently released movies and TV series(Tv shows)”. For movies, there is an option of "Recently Released Movies" on the Home screen, but there is no such option for TV series. So, dear Emby team, could you please add a "Recently Released Tv shows" option on the Home screen? 2 1 1
ebr 16169 Posted May 5, 2025 Posted May 5, 2025 Hi. Like all feature requests, we will monitor this for interest. Thanks. 1
Happy2Play 9780 Posted May 5, 2025 Posted May 5, 2025 I would assume it would be exactly the same as Latest TV as it will show the show you just added episodes for first ie Latest Episode date added, correct? But a real definition of "Recently Released Tv shows" would need to be established as are we talking about a Show or the Episode added? Same as the only difference in the "Recently Released Movies" is it is by Release date and Latest is by "date added"

I wouldn't think so, I'd expect it to list TV shows based on Latest episode date aired/released, regardless of its Date added, as Latest row does.

So a duplicate of a row that already exist. I guess then one could eliminate Latest Rows would be the only benefit.
GrimReaper 4739 Posted May 5, 2025 Posted May 5, 2025 (edited) Not a duplicate. Show A: Last episode aired: 15/04/25 Added: 18/04/25 Show B: Last episode aired: 16/04/25 Added: 17/04/25 Latest row: A—>B Recently Released TV row: B—>A Edited May 5, 2025 by GrimReaper

It shouldn't, it should be based on Last Episode Date Added, not Last Episode Release Date. Edit: To make it more extreme: Show A: Last episode aired: 12/06/19 Added: 18/04/25 Show B: Last episode aired: 16/04/25 Added: 17/04/25 Latest row: A—>B Recently Released TV row: B... (A would likely not even be in the list) Edited May 5, 2025 by GrimReaper 1
Happy2Play 9780 Posted May 5, 2025 Posted May 5, 2025 Okay I know why mine has always been that way as I have Timelord so nothing in Emby is by date added it is always Release date. 3
ebr 16169 Posted May 5, 2025 Posted May 5, 2025 This would have even more overlap than the Latest/Recently release movies section because there is no "lag" in home releases for TV like there is for movies but, also, we would have to define what is "recently released" in the context of a TV show. Is it latest episode or first episode? An argument can be made for both but first episode would produce the least amount of overlap with the "latest" row. 1 1
Neminem 1518 Posted May 5, 2025 Posted May 5, 2025 So should it be Premier date of Tv show, regardless of episodes added date.
Happy2Play 9780 Posted May 5, 2025 Posted May 5, 2025 Just now, Neminem said: So should it be Premier date of Tv show, regardless of episodes added date. But then a show with many seasons would always be buried behind everything newer.

Right but what is the point of this row if we don't do that? it would almost always be the same as the "Latest" row... So, using actual series premiere date gives you a row of brand new series.
GrimReaper 4739 Posted May 5, 2025 Posted May 5, 2025 I don't doubt userbase will be split on this one, as it so often happens. I reckon it all falls down to what would the actual scope ultimately be: accurately reflect episodes Release dates, avoid overlapping with Latest row as much as possible or show TV shows only regardless of episodes/number of seasons?
