tedfroop21 86 Posted April 27, 2025 Posted April 27, 2025 So one of the things I think about is adding actor ID's to NFO's. I know backup and all that BUT lets say you had issues and wanted a fresh start. If you had NFO's and they had ID's like actor Ivan Dixon and 95224-ivan-dixon, then all the bit part players or non mainstream actors would show up, first scan. All the bit part actors who used 5-6 names would always show up as one actor....(and show up without manual lookup.) Same for adult content where actors may use several names during their career. You can have the name as listed in the credits and use the meta ID to link them to one actor profile. Just thinkin.....
Luke 42077 Posted April 27, 2025 Posted April 27, 2025 Hi, Emby already supports reading and writing this information to and from nfo files.
tedfroop21 86 Posted April 27, 2025 Author Posted April 27, 2025 Don't know. I must not understand how to trigger the NFO to write or update.
Luke 42077 Posted April 27, 2025 Posted April 27, 2025 Maybe you just don't have the info to begin with in your emby database. l don't know either. We'd have to look at a specific example. Thanks.
tedfroop21 86 Posted April 27, 2025 Author Posted April 27, 2025 Not happening until the scanning issues are resolved and I can scan the libraries relatively error free.
