aktur 1 Posted April 25, 2025 Posted April 25, 2025 Hi, I have Emby Premiere and I'm running my server on a Synology NAS. Everything works fine, but there's one issue: when I convert media files, the converted files are saved with 777 permissions. Since these are just media files, they really shouldn't have execute permissions. Ideally, I'd like them to be saved with 664 permissions instead. Is there a way to set this up? I checked the server settings but couldn’t find anything related. There's a settings button on the media conversion page, but it just leads to a blank screen. For reference, my Emby Server version is 4.8.11.0. Kind regards, Michal
Luke 42077 Posted April 26, 2025 Posted April 26, 2025 Hi, when we create files, all of these permission related decisions happen internally within the dotnet runtime. The methods to create and copy files don't have any options for us to configure permissions. But from googling around, apparently nowadays there is something we could do after files are created: https://github.com/dotnet/runtime/discussions/45641 So I guess the conversion feature could always have an option for that.
aktur 1 Posted April 26, 2025 Author Posted April 26, 2025 It would be great if it could be implemented! I vote for it, if there is any voting possible . Thanks for looking at it, Luke. 1
