Brief black screen when next episode starts

When the playing SDR or HDR content and the next episode starts playing, we see a brief flash of the episode starting. The screen goes black (TV is still on) and then the video resumes after maybe 2 seconds. I can confirm that the player is responsive and showing the seconds passing.
