Bazzu85 22 Posted April 24, 2025 Posted April 24, 2025 (edited) Hi, I attach my current situation. On tracktk I have alla episodes watched from 1 to 1008. When importing the watch status to emby only first season is marked as watched (I think caused by the name on trakt s01e09 vs tvdb s02e01, the absolute number is 9 on both sites) When marking as watched from emby, the watch status is updated on trakt correctly. Luke 42077 Posted April 24, 2025 Posted April 24, 2025 HI, so all of this is done by matching the episode number from trakt with the episode in your library. So if it's 1x09 on Trakt, then it would need to be 1x09 in your library in order for it to work.

What I don't understand then is why when I mark as watched from Emby episode 2x1, it correctly marks episode 1x9 as watched on Trakt.
Luke 42077 Posted April 24, 2025 Posted April 24, 2025 When we send that to trakt, we send episode external ids , so it might be using that when present rather than just season and episode number.

So why don't use the trakt id saved on emby database to match info's from trakt? All episodes has it. If the trakt id is missing you can fallback to use the episode name. Mine is just a suggestion to improve the detection..
Luke 42077 Posted April 24, 2025 Posted April 24, 2025 We'll have to check and see if anything has changed with the trakt api, but as far as I know, when we pull down the list of played episodes, we are only getting season and episode numbers ,no ids.
Bazzu85 22 Posted April 25, 2025 Author Posted April 25, 2025 (edited) I renamed all episode using tmdb ordering and added "[tmdbid=37854]" to the folder name to force emby to grab the infos from tmdb. I have a last problem. All specials are grabbed always from tvdb. Here's an example: why don't emby grab the infos from tmdb only for specials? Edited April 25, 2025 by Bazzu85
Luke 42077 Posted April 25, 2025 Posted April 25, 2025 Quote added "[tmdbid=37854]" to the folder name to force emby to grab the infos from tmdb. This does not force anything to be downloaded from anywhere. This merely sets the tmdb id, which is a good thing, but metadata providers are determined based on library settings.

Why the metadata grabbed for season from 1 to 22 are downloaded from tmdb when I renamed the folder? How can I force only One piece to use tmdb data to match trakt ones? There is no way to force a single series to do something different than the library settings, although this question has come up before so it's possible something will get added at some point. Quote Why the metadata grabbed for season from 1 to 22 are downloaded from tmdb when I renamed the folder? Without the log file from when that happened, it's hard to say. Maybe you had Tmdb set to first at that time and then later changed. Maybe it failed to connect to tvdb at that time. Maybe the lookup on tvdb didn't match anything. Could be any number of things.
