Options to maintain connection without static ip

Hi all

I am running my server on Windows with dedicated pc. No issues so far with internal devices. My issue is I have a few devices outside my network when my ISP change my ip they can't connect. Without sorting a static ip what are my options?

I think Emby connect allows that. But i do not know for sure as my IPs never change.

I have a few users and only I can link my email for emby connect. I need a DNS service after further research.

Why can you only link your email?

I want to have same email for all users but when I try it says the email is already associated to a ebmy connect account.

Don't want to have to keep entering details every time my ISP changes my ip. I have a few family members who are not tech savvy.

Why would you have to do that with emby connect?

You are not going to be able to have the same email for all users if you want to use Emby connect. If the reason you want the same Email across the board for users for some other reason then a potential workaround is to use a mailing list so you can send things to everybody at once. If you want to use the same email is for user convenience then you will just have to teach your users what they need to know to use Emby connect.

I really cannot understand why having the same email for all your users is at all good but each to their own. It seems like your only option is a static IP. If that costs extra then you need to decide if it is worth it.

Am i correct in understanding I need to register a different email for each user so that they can use emby connect ?

Well can't it just be their own email?

It can be their own email. Family friend who is elderly has access but doesn't really use email etc. Plus a pain when having to enter email and password everytime my ip is changed. Easy for some, not always easy for other. I understand now. Sorry for the confusion. I will look into static ip when I change ISP in 6 months. Thanks all.

This is not required. Users will only ever have to sign in once per device. Emby Connect automatically handles your IP changes behind the scenes, that's what it was designed for.

Your IP changes will remain transparent to the end users.

Perfect. Besides the volume issue I have with some files I had set up server months ago and it's been great. Never bothered with connect until this issue. Thanks for the clarification.
