Omahabrownie 9 Posted April 23, 2025 Posted April 23, 2025 I am setting up a new nas and have emby installed and I put my key in and all it does is spin on the key page. It is not accepting it for some reason. The key is the same one I have on my older synology nas that is working fine. Anyone have any ideas on what I need to do to fix this? Thanks Dave
Omahabrownie 9 Posted April 23, 2025 Author Posted April 23, 2025 Hi, I put the key in and hit save and there is just a spinning circle. And it does not give the info for my account
Luke 42077 Posted April 23, 2025 Posted April 23, 2025 Hi there, please attach the Emby server log from when the problem occurred: How to Report a Problem Thanks!
Omahabrownie 9 Posted April 23, 2025 Author Posted April 23, 2025 Hi, I put the key in and hit save and there is just a spinning circle. And it does not give the info for my account Not sure if this is the one you need? embyserver-63880999313.txt
Luke 42077 Posted April 23, 2025 Posted April 23, 2025 Is this from when the problem was experienced?
Luke 42077 Posted April 23, 2025 Posted April 23, 2025 Also, what address is in the browser address bar?
Omahabrownie 9 Posted April 23, 2025 Author Posted April 23, 2025 192.168.0.11:8181/emby/web/index.html#/embypremiere
Luke 42077 Posted April 23, 2025 Posted April 23, 2025 OK try just putting this into the browser: http://192.168.0.11:8096
Omahabrownie 9 Posted April 23, 2025 Author Posted April 23, 2025 My other machine has 8086 and the new one shows 8086 in its address but under the premiere part it shows the other should I just try and change that part of the address?
Omahabrownie 9 Posted April 23, 2025 Author Posted April 23, 2025 Thanks That seemed to work, I should have noticed that myself. 1
Omahabrownie 9 Posted April 24, 2025 Author Posted April 24, 2025 I thought I would add that it worked but I came back to the server a few hours later and it was again saying I need the premiere account and had the wrong address the 8181 in there. Is there some place I can go and change that so it does not come back up? Thanks
Omahabrownie 9 Posted April 24, 2025 Author Posted April 24, 2025 I have found that anytime I go out of the server and then open it up again in the nas it goes back to the 8181 address.
Luke 42077 Posted April 24, 2025 Posted April 24, 2025 It sounds like you're clicking a button in Terramaster TOS which is launching that url? You could just bookmark http://192.168.0.11:8096
Omahabrownie 9 Posted April 24, 2025 Author Posted April 24, 2025 Your right, I don't know why terramaster tos is putting it up wrong but that is the trouble and You are right I do not have to login thru the nas. Again thanks for the help. David Brown 1
ulanov 16 Posted May 5, 2025 Posted May 5, 2025 CONFIRMED TERRAMASTER APP BUG Working with a brand new Terramaster (specifically the all-SSD F8 pro). The Emby app when installed on the NAS redirects web browsers to its default port, 8181. (Note: In my installation Emby is installed at address 192.168.1.18) This bug - which prevents running Emby on the necessary port to have Emby Premiere properly recognized - occurs even if one attempts to create an in-app Terramaster desktop URL link with the correct Emby port (such as 192.168.1.18:8096). Terramaster then inserts the 8181 port and creates this URL for the shortcut: http://192.168.1.18:8181/tos/192.168.1.18:8096, which is impossible to execute. The only solution I have found, per the above, is to create a main-system shortcut (such as on the Windows desktop) to, e.g, http://192.1.168.18:8096. So, the Terramaster Emby app, at least the current Terramaster store app version 4.8.10.0, is bugged. I hope Emby will get Terramaster to fix the app. Attempting to install the latest app version for Terramaster directly from Emby's web site (a later version than on the Terramaster app store), version 4.8.11.0, replicates the same problem, except that Emby won't open even when the address is manually altered to port 8096 (instead of the default address of 8181). This may be because I am running Terramaster OS version 6, while the app on the Emby website says it is for OS version 05. So: - There is no way to install the Emby web site's latest app (4.8.11.0) if running the latest Terramaster OS (version 6). - We can install the prior app version (4.8.10.0) from the Terramaster app store, but then there is no way to run it or bookmark it from the Terramaster built-in desktop or app list. - It IS possible to run that installed app version 4.8.10.0 from a main desktop app incorporating the 8096 - or just manually changing the address in a web browser to http://192.168.1.18:8096. (I have not been able to get it to work on a secure address, https://192.168.1.18: 8920. 1
stevesarzi 1 Posted October 10, 2025 Posted October 10, 2025 Hi, I can confirm that even with latest Beta 4.9.2.2 the problem persist; if app is launched from TOS 6 webpage the port is still 8181 and Premium seems disabled. Other than the necessity of log in directly with a bookmark from browser, will any othe thing or functionality be affected innormal use ? (for example how transcoding will work when a clip is played by a client?) Thank you Stefano
Omahabrownie 9 Posted October 10, 2025 Author Posted October 10, 2025 (edited) Yes it is but creating a logon outside tos works just fine. Thanks for the update Dave Brown Edited October 10, 2025 by Omahabrownie
Neminem 1516 Posted October 11, 2025 Posted October 11, 2025 (edited) @Ahmad777here you go Emby Premiere - Emby Remember to read the small print. Quick Start Edited October 11, 2025 by Neminem
ulanov 16 Posted October 12, 2025 Posted October 12, 2025 (edited) Actually - in reply to @Luke- despite the most recent replies above, when I now install from the TerraMaster app store (TerraMaster TOS6) the Emby app DOES install, on port 5443 (for some reason) and says it is installing Emby 4.9.0.70. HOWEVER - it will still not accept an Emby Premier key, although in a different way from prior. This time, when entering the key it says the key is accepted, and indeed it is sticky - remembered - when going in and out of the app, but the dashboard still displays the "get Emby Premier" badge and one cannot set up live TV. A spinning circle appears continuously whenever on the Premier tab, even though the key was previously accepted. This is just a quick test because after the difficulties reported previously, I am running Emby as a Docker app on my TerraMaster. Hope that helps. Edited October 12, 2025 by ulanov
Omahabrownie 9 Posted October 12, 2025 Author Posted October 12, 2025 I made a web link to emby, like https: 192.168.0.11:8096 and this is how I logon to envy and it takes the premium code and stayed . I just use this way to logon and work with envy on my computer not thru the nas. Dave
Racerprose 29 Posted October 13, 2025 Posted October 13, 2025 This has been an going issue for a while. Not sure if it is on Emby's end or TerraMasters end.
richt 94 Posted October 13, 2025 Posted October 13, 2025 TerraMaster is using a reverse proxy from the application link on the TOS App Center. As part of their reverse proxy configuration, they are using a subfoder and an alternate port. https://TNAS.ip.Address:5443/emby/ The "/emby/" in the above address denotes the subfolder. Using a subfolder requires that the application (Emby) supports it as it changes the URL. The problem is that Emby does NOT support the use of subfolders in a reverse proxy configuration. A fix for this could be implemented by TerraMaster in changing how their reverse proxy handles Emby or by Emby in adding support for subfolders in a reverse proxy configuration. I doubt Emby would pick up this change request as it is probably not as simple as it sounds and they have many higher priority changes we're all asking for. By FAR, the easiest solution is to NOT use the link in the TerraMaster App Center to access Emby. Make a shortcut in your browser to http://tnas.ip.address:8096. If you need a secure connection to Emby, there are a couple articles in this forum on setting up and configuring a reverse proxy. For me the simplest solution was a SWAG docker install as it provides NGINX, Let's Encrypt, and fail2ban along with a sample for an Emby subdomain reverse proxy.
