HW Transcoding on DS1819+

Hi

I'm new to Emby as for now I always used Plex. I tested Jellyfin but wasn't very happy with it but here the HW decoding got activated.

For Emby I simply can't figure out how to get it to work - maybe for my device it's just not possible?

I even tried with SynoCli Video Drivers installed but under transcoding advanced for Hardware decoder there is simply nothing listed.

Premiere is activated correctly

I saw many entries for this issue with a Docker Container but I use the package directly

Thanks for any idea what I can check further

I just updated to Version 4.9.0.50 beta to test and also the same

So I suppose it doesn't work for emby

How come, you had it activated for Plex?

That device has Intel Atom C3538 CPU and it does not have GPU.
HW Transcoding is not possible if your box does not have any kind of GPU.

Hi it was Jellyfin who installed some drivers  and told me it was hardware accelerated

at the end I did some researches and found an Excel Sheet with all Models and Cpu capibilities and so now I know that this what Jellyfin told me was nonesense

now I took an mini PC as server and the Synology for my files - first my 4k videos didn‘t work well but I loaded the network drive over fstab - now I learned that I can‘t directly attack the Synology from within Emby and it seems to work

So learning about Emby day by day

Synology disabled that function after DSM update version 7.2.2. 

The disabled all hardware support for media except when you have a Synology Play
