(Version 4.9.0.50 beta) I just had a problem on my Shield using the "Emby for Android TV" app. What happened was that I was messing around with the guide and, suddenly, the entire guide just disappeared. That is no data showed when entering live TV, but the "tags" and "channels" worked fine. The Guide showed just fine on my Rokus and my Fire TV and even in the web interface. I did everything I could think of and the guide did not come back. I even went so far as clearing all data and the cache for both of the Emby programs and still no guide data. I rebooted everything and made sure that my other clients still worked fine. I then uninstalled both Emby apps and rebooted my Shield again and then reinstalled the apps. Without changing anything else I entered the apps and found that the guide still had no data. I then played with the various settings for the guide and other things like tags and still no guide data appeared. I verified that all the channels played fine when accessed via the "Channels" or "Tags" tabs and they did. I then started going back through all the settings and could not find anything that seemed like it might be the problem. While going through the settings one more time without changing anything suddenly the guide data started working just fine. The only problem I see now is that some channels do not have guide data but they seem to be filling in as time passes. I am now back to about 90-95% of the guide working fine. (Note: The guide was not missing anything on my other clients) This was ONLY on my Shield and only impacted the guide. I have no ides what happened or what I did t fix it but it is now working quite well on my Shield. I, at least currently, do not need help to fix this because it is fixed but I wanted to report it simply because it may point to some problem lurking in the code. BTW: If it matters I have both Android apps installed on my Shield and, when the guide failed, neither had guide data. but, once again, every other app worked fine my Fire TV and my Rokus and my web interface all had the guide and the guide data was working even when the Shield's guide was screwed up. When I removed and reinstalled the apps I did it for both apps on my Shield. Thanks for listening.

ferrocene 3 Posted April 26, 2025 Posted April 26, 2025 I've been seeing the same for at least the last 2 weeks or so. Perhaps when I upgraded to emby-server-deb_4.9.0.42_amd64.deb, which I did a month ago. I just upgraded to .50, so I'll keep an eye out. I don't know if it's client-side or server-side, but the guide will somewhat randomly re-appear if i go out of the menu and then return. As an aside, I tried using the full/new Android version instead of the Android TV version, and it still doesn't compare. The live TV watching while still recording (to start 30 minutes later and skip commercials, esp. for football games, etc) just doesn't work at all - no seeking ability. If something freezes and you have to start over a 3 hour football game, there's no way to scrub to the middle, you have to start watching from the beginning. Absolutely breaks the app. I hope they never ditch the AndroidTV version, or at least make the live streaming/recording act the same. It's been a game-changer. 1
