Disable Image Cache

Greetings,

is there some way to disable image caching?

I don't want my emby-vm to pull images from my samba-vm, saving them onto its own disks.

Im using a Home videos & photos library for those files.

Hi, there are caching options for each library, and those are off by default, so there is nothing you need to do.

Thats weird, using samba network locations i cannot confirm that.

I created some Home videos & photo libraries at different locations and didn't touch any settings on them.
 Keep a cached copy of images in the server's metadata folder & Download images in advance are disabled.

Creating libraries on a network drive, does create resized-images and temp files, under the provided cache path under server settings.
That happens as soon as emby is scanning for files, refreshing metadata or a user scrolls through those network libraries. 

I did input 'smb://192.168.2.7/share/' into the folder path.

A local or a mounted network path, using cifs via mount command or fstab, does only create a resized-images folder.

Using the mounted path via fstab does mostly fix my problem and seems to enhance loading performance, i will stick with that for the time being.

That is a different level cache, and it is much shorter term because it is specific to each client app and the output is based on what it needs at that particular time.

No, only when scrolling through the library.
