AndyHN 0 Posted April 19, 2025 Posted April 19, 2025 I have a specific issue when attempting to play my h264 HD movie files using the LG app. The majority of my movie files have two audio tracks: track 1 is AAC stereo 160kbs and track 2 is AC3 5.1 640kbs. If I try and play a movie from the beginning with the 5.1 audio track pre-selected the movie freezes at the first frame and I don't see any error messages on screen. If I then play the same movie from the beginning with the AAC audio track pre-selected, the movie plays fine (without transcoding). I can then select the 5.1 audio track from the on screen menu whilst the movie is playing and it then continues to play using the 5.1 audio track (without transcoding). I can also resume movies with the 5.1 audio track pre-selected without a problem. I only get the freeze if I play from the beginning with the 5.1 audio track. Hope you can help. embyserver.txt
Luke 42419 Posted April 21, 2025 Posted April 21, 2025 Hi, was there an ffmpeg log? Please attach that as well. Thanks.
AndyHN 0 Posted April 22, 2025 Author Posted April 22, 2025 Hi, no there wasn't an ffmpeg log produced, just the embyserver log. I've re-run the test with the same results today (just an embyserver log produced - no ffmpeg log). In the attached log I attempted to play the movie from the beginning with 5.1 audio (track 2) selected at 08:18:13 and it froze on the opening frame. I then exited the movie and played the same movie from the beginning but this time with AAC audio at 08:19:05 and it played fine. Whilst it was playing I selected the 5.1 audio track (second audio track) after about 10 seconds or so and it switched to that track without a problem. embyserver.txt
Luke 42419 Posted May 13, 2025 Posted May 13, 2025 OK we'll take a look at this. Thanks for reporting.
AndyHN 0 Posted April 30 Author Posted April 30 I'm still experiencing this issue with server version 4.9.3.0. I see that a few other users have also reported similar issues trying to play video files from the beginning of the file with the non-default 5.1 audio track selected (2nd audio track in my case). This issue only occurs on the LG app - my Samsung TV plays the same video files without a problem.

AndyHN 0 Posted 1 hour ago Author Posted 1 hour ago Hi Luke, I've done another test and attached the server log file, no other logs were produced. I tried playing the movie Ad Astra from the beginning at 11:46:51 with the second movie audio track selected (5.1 ac3). All I got was a black screen with the movie stuck on 0:00. I exited the movie and played the movie again from the beginning at 11:47:27 but this time with the first movie audio track selected (stereo AAC) and the movie played perfectly. This happens consistently with my movies when playing them from the start when I select the 5.1 ac3 audio track. embyserver.txt
